Pens -- JAN 2020

Yes...and whipped him around like a rag doll lol...so why carry it on? Let's face it good ole Zachary isn't exactly a Mensa candidate. This Frenchie chick drove him around bombed and broke a bunch of his bones, and rehab ensued for the poor lad after all! :joy:

sometimes you need to finish things. I'm sure tkachuk will take another run at him. i'm sure tkachuk will continue to break the unwritten rules by not fighting after taking runs... remember how crazy that drove people about ulf samuelsson or darius kasparitis?

Oh I agree, but I'm not even sure he had a chance to engage him in the melee though. I think he'd fight him if squared off one on one. His pops was known for more than one cheap shot in his life but usually would fight, and Brady has had a tilt or two in Ottawa. My bet says Dada called him and said he has to fight one on one to get it out of the way. Not sure it will happen though with the league likely sending a few warnings.
Then again, here is something...they conveniently suspended Kassian 2 games, the next one on the sched is the Flames, so they damnwell want the ratings!
I posted that Frenchie chick on purpose for you btw... I'd probably trust her and go for a ride too if I were bombed....you have a new affinity like Zach I bet?!?

Yeah, that's pretty idiotic in its own right......I know scheduling (and by extension, dealing with building availability) isn't the easiest thing in the world to manage. But it seems to me that's why Gawd invented computers; some with more processing horsepower than others.
I remember you posting last month on a potential Grapes replacement...as per the puck heads here (through a third party), the successor JR was on the docket, right up until he started bragging about his sexual escapades on some half wit broadcast. And there goes that :bomb:....a few up here were rather up in arms at the suggestion about a year or so ago as he isn't Canadian , however I thought it woulda been a pretty good move. He's controversial at times without getting overly political, and has always talked glowingly about Canada (honorary Canuck)....so much for that BIG payday JR...lesson learned in 2020, if you're a big wheel don't engage with a bunch of lugheads on shock jock hour...

Btw, gimmie a query or two for Friday and these puckheads...something that's been percolating in your mind of late...

even matt cooke answered the bell when called.

Looks like JR came out of personal hiatus this past weekend on Twitter.......issuing apologies to pretty much anyone who'd been reading/listening. Pretty sure Kathryn Tappen accepted his apology publically, without telling him to forget about what he said.

No clue if he's ultimately going to be back on NBC/MSNBC, but I'm currently inclined to think he will survive, especially if he gets Tappen's blessing. But with all the guff NBC has gotten over the Matt Lauer issue, it's hard to imagine them having much tolerance for this.

I realize only time and actual performance can truly answer this question, but I'd like their take.....at this point.....if the Pens are likely to commit to Murray or roll the dice on Jarry after this season. And if it's the latter, would they flush Murray altogether and go with Jarry and DeSmith next season (or sign him short-term as an RFA under the assumption he'll leave after next season).

Speaking of Pens' goalies, I heard an expert on NHL Network today.....can't remember his name.....expressing his belief that Murray's problem is that he's too low and wide, meaning his basic profile/stance is such that it mechanically hinders his side to side movement. Jarry, on the other hand, stands taller and is better positioned on his edges, making side to side movement easier for him.

Would be curious if they think there's any legitimacy to this particular assessment.

Had dinner in Chicago last night with my son, and caught only the 3rd period on Siriusxm on the way to my hotel. Sounded like a pretty rewarding night.

But the big game is tomorrow night, when the Pens get their payback opportunity with the Broons. Catching them at a good time; 5-2-3 in their last 10, including getting shutout last night by the Blojax (and Elvis M) and Rat will still be hearing the shit after his shootout f***up the other night.

I also understand Rask is hurt, so they'll presumably see Halak......against whom they scored four their last time in Boston. You'll remember that game, where the Pens went down 3-0, then blitzed the Broons in the 2nd to take a 3rd period lead (on Johnny Marino's first NHL goal) before Jarry completed their 2-headed collapse in goal.

In fact, that may have been the last game where their goaltending could have been plausibly blamed totally for the loss......hope both Jarry and Murray are locked in emotionally for this one.

Your first question is mine too lol...your second I will put direct to the goalie Healy himself, he's usually none too afraid to chat that way...mine in relation to that is whether or not this equipment is making him effectively too small for his rather tall size...In saying all this, I feel he has been pretty good his last 2 starts and has maybe turned a corner, or at least 'gets it'...this rumored contract desire/demand...that'll be brought up too...

Interesting take on MM's equipment; not sure I thought of that.

BTW, I agree with you about his last 2 starts; we'll surely see him tomorrow night vs the Dead Wings......though I'm wondering if HCMS just might toss him into the frying pan tonight with the knowledge he's got something personal to prove versus the Broons (along with the fact Jarry would be in his pocket for the rematch next week at home).

Meanwhile, I've got one more question for the insiders; for some reason, I've been led to believe.....since this team started to win Cups......that other teams really don't want to deal with the Pens; not sure if it's the franchise itself, or GMJR. Might simply be that nobody wants to "help" a franchise that's already won so much.

I'd be curious if that's viewed as true; and if so, what's the reason.......

With the jam-packed League schedule tonight, there appears to be only one Center Ice feed for tonight's game. That almost assuredly means the HOME broadcast; which means we Pens fans are stuck tonight dealing with the League's two biggest homers: Jack(ass) Edwards and Andy Brickley.

Who in the hell is this Jack Edwards dude on the B's broadcast? Gsus this is getting horrible now when even an original 6 can't get a quality local guy. His voice amplitude and inept pausing is unbearable.... oh well at least that Rancourt anthem goofball is retired...

And you read my mind! This is pathetic to listen to.

And ok...500 games, gee whiz , this is equally painful. Wtf? Fancy watches, silver sticks...Thank goodness we play these clowns relatively few times....
Long drawn out nonsense ceremonies usually favour the road team, so at least there is that...

we have been hearing that teams don't want to deal with the pens for a long time, yet it still happens every february.

Outskated pretty badly.....I think the back-to-back PP for the Broons made a big difference in their settling down quickly after Sid's goal. Just too bad they were able to take advantage of the two deflections (among all their scoring chances).

Now, we need to get the wheels turning in the 2nd; mostly because they essentially didn't get used at all in the 1st.

This B's broadcast crew...making Halak into the greatest goalie of all time....how often do you guys on the board here , have these chumps? Not only do they not know wtf they are talking about, but they do it at volume 10, and talk over themselves at breakneck speed. I would rather Jody Shelley and a Blowjax crew any day and that says something...the worst performance by our guys through 2 in some time, combined with the worst broadcast I have heard in easily a year...good times!

Broons largely picked up in the 2nd where they left off the 1st.....but Pens got the break they needed on the last second breakaway. Just a shame the score isn't tied......Pens simply aren't getting enough chances. Credit to the Broons for being more ready to play, at least through 2 periods.

Absolutely brilliant comparison by the Broons between-periods talking heads: Charlie Coyle.......solidly one of the B's Top 4 forwards......versus Yuk.....justifiably buried on the 4th line and lucky to have a uniform.

Essentially, I myself will never watch a Broons telecast BECAUSE of Edwards and Brickley.......and now Billy Jaffe, who after so many years working NY hockey, moved to Boston a couple years back and picked right up when Edwards leaves for his between-periods shit.

It's gawd awful CM...I guess all of my feeds luckily, vs them over the years have been our local Burgh feed...

Well that was likely the nail...it was stopable but woulda been a real good save to do it. I can't hang Tristan on any of this tonight...he's done what he can under the circumstances of his mates in front of him....
