Pens March

I am still incredibly bothered by the lack of desire shown by this team basically 2.5 weeks from the playoffs.
I haven't seen the last 2 OM1 unfortunately, but trust your opinion. Tomorrow vs Devils there really is no excuse but to wax them (I'll be flipping constant between Eers/Nova , for certain)....and now trying to decide, guys wknd vs couples wknd on the football slate. Thinking Thursday night Baylor Oct25 and a Pens game surrounding it for the guys trip, and a Saturday Tilt vs TCU early November with the wife and our friends also hopefully with a Pens game. No matter what I'll curse at both these dirtball teams for attempting to injure all our guys...biggest greaseballs in the B12 both of em imo...why am I gravitating to these games lol...
Lets get 2 in a row here tomorrow AND the elite 8!

Back from 4 days in San Antonio......weather was sunny and in the high 70's.......and looking for some good news with the Pens playing up and down while the Blojax are up to 10 in a row and tied with the Pens for 2nd in the Metro. Oh, and we're a full 4 points behind the Craps for 1st place.

About the only thing I can find is the Pens remain comfortably ahead of Columbus in the ROW tiebreaker (40-36) while being tied with the Craps. At 4-6-0 in their last 10 games, Jersey coming in tonight is not playing well right now.....but we all know the Pens haven't showed well against them at all this season. Looks like Murray in the cage tonight.

Hope that fungo Sid hit past Carey Price the other night re-energizes his scoring touch......meanwhile, while ZAR is practicing, DK says he's still a week from game action.

DK reporting today that Dumoulin has been dropped (supposedly in a trial move of sorts) to the 2nd pairing with Schultz......with Oleksiak moving up to the top pairing with Letang.

Has Sullivan watched Letang the last 2 weeks? How is he the top D-man?

2 years ago the Pens went 16-5 to finish the season. Last year 12-6-3. So far in March the Pens are 6-3-2 but without a bunch of good wins. Four games left in March, the Pens should win 3 of them. Should beat Ottawa to end the season. At 98 points is that enough to avoid a wild card spot?

2 weeks left in the season and the Pens have a 7 point lead over 9th place Florida. Way too close for comfort. Plus FLA has 2 games in-hand on the entire east (except the Bs). Not sure if that is a blessing or a curse as literally they have 10 games to play the last 15 days. Assuming the Cats win those two games in-hand, they are in the 8th spot with 87 points ahead of the Devils. So in reality The Pens are really 4 points ahead of the Devils for the 8th spot.

Oh it's a wee bit concerning with their current level of play alright...and how much ya wanna bet they do it the hard way lol. Frustrating team to watch over the last 3 weeks or so.
A very winnable game today vs these asshats, and I'm eager to see how they respond after the OT loss...
Speaking of asshats, anyone else feel it's a bit ridiculous to see the Cryers in the position they're in with their actual record? Their OT losses are off the charts compared to anyone else effectively putting them at roughly .500 record wise. More evidence that imo this playoff system/points scheme is pure trash. Sick of it. Bring back the old system of a tie is a tie already...just my opinion.
Now...Lets Go Pens!!!!

I sure hope that 1st Cryers goal was tipped, because Murray......who everyone knows has a no better than middling glove on its absolute best day......seemed to have missed the shot by a full foot.

Been that way for at least 6 weeks......to me, THE best means to reduce the value of the OT point remains 3 points for a regulation win. But I don't get the impression that sentiment, while seemingly supported by a reasonable number of fans, has ANY kind of support within the League.

Meanwhile, that WAS a pretty nice pass by Sheary leading to the Brassard goal.

Pierre and Milbury doing everything they can to blame the Cryers goals on shit back checking and defense, and I wouldn't presume to say they were wrong. But it's also not like they were snipered by Giroux and Voracek, either.

In other words, it looks to me like Murray is dealing with some reasonably severe confidence issues right now.......

I know I have been harping on about it but here is yet another game everyone will go apoplectic about the D and goaltending, BUT the forwards...watch closely on these odd man rushes. NOBODY up front giving a damn. Coasting back to the zone as if their minds are in outerspace. At least the C needs to participate...so frustrating, as that has not been the case last few years...grrrr....

He doesn't look sharp...not the same guy since back. We better hope he gets it back or it's over soon.

Bingo JR! Calling out 71...lazy....of course this does not absolve the other 5 guys on the ice either....what are we gonna get here in 2 guys? Any predictions? Cause I'm frankly lost as to what we'll see...
