Pens-Craps

I'll be 60 years old in 2 weeks, which means I've been watching the game for 47 or so years. These kinds of comebacks happen once in awhile in the game, but I don't EVER recall one like this by the Penguins.

Do they have enough energy left to extend the Craps' playoff curse ??

The small Pens forwards just can't maneuver down on the goal line against the big Craps defense......major, major disadvantage.

F'n F'uck me....and its the guy who was much maligned...and in the Holtby interview what got it done for you guys? ....well the obvious answer is... we caved in our nemisis head ....no?

Trotz 'It was a hockey play'....of course it was Barry! How bout the stick up on him Barry before the hit 'was there a penalty?'....and disappears...FU coward.

Meanwhile....Sully could have exploded, and didnt...handled it with class AS USUAL ...'we have been battling through injuries and we will continue to do so'....did not take the bait, he has a TEAM to mobilize for next game....

And Kypreos carries on....'Sid made himself vulnerable, this is not a suspendable act'....i need to settle down, before I personally drive down to Sportsnet Central station, attempt to crash the front gates, and search out Kypreos....gimmie just one shot...break his f'n jaw again....

DK's Tim Benz tweeted the following in the post game: "Sid just walked by me in the arena. Full suit. Winked at a worker and appeared to say 'I'm OK'. Walking briskly. No sign of a limp"

The longer it goes, I'm WAY more bothered by the Ovechkin slash than Niskanen's hit. Without it, Sid doesn't lose his balance and the hit to the head never happens. Why 8 is getting a virtually complete and total pass on his role in the play is beyond me.

Then you have fatman Trotz inventing stories about "predatory" hits by Kunitz to thugs like Oshie. What a clown......

Player 8 whacked him but good on his way in...one only needs to look at the flex on the stick...STILL when Niska**** says no intent to injure? I only need to look at a weeks tape on his thug game towards Sid...F him. I counted at least twice he could have maimed him seriously previous ...NHL will turn the blind eye to the whole affair.. I have ZERO doubt.

I haven't been this livid over a hockey game since Adam Graves slashed #66 and broke his hand. I printed out a photo of him, laminated it and placed it in my toilet and pi$$ed on him for a week. Now, in my sixties, I mostly just pi$$ on my shoes.

Lmfao!.........yes, I can't seem to stop clenching/ gritting my teeth either Euell. This mornings radio here seems about a split on whether suplementary discipline is warranted or not, so spin the wheel NHL , nobody knows where it will land....and really It doesnt matter , what matters is if Sid is healthy or not.
Like CM I think (as do several analysts), the player 8 whack was the act that sent the whole play into motion. Was the Niskanen cross check to the face a crime of opportunity? Perhaps...as I say in seeing his previous 'hard play' on Sid in this series (driven to the post on Kessel goal, and another cross check to his back), I can't help but think it somewhat intentional, no matter what speed the play happened. GMJR will complain at the summer meetings yet again for stronger discipline by the league and teams like the Hawks, and Blowjackets will shout him down...again.

So now, already behind the 8 ball manpower wise without our #1 D, losing the luxury of a serviceable playoff calibre backup goalie, (these are injuries that happen, and it is what it is), and now potentially no Captain and #1 Centre? Well...they might win the series, who knows, but the Pens would be dead men walking imo, in regards to a Cup defense....

I thought the low bridge Kadri hit to to player 8 was dirty, in round one, yet now I find myself wishing he did more damage, after what was witnessed last night....yet I want the Pens to beat a fully healthy Craps lineup, something tells me Craps fans don't feel same about the Pens, they are likely dancing a jig right about now...

And anyone see the Rob Rossi column? He's on radio here this morning...IMO he goes a wee bit too far....besides, I can't take anything he says seriously anymore...he's thrown the team and 87 under the bus so many times in the past...

Let's be honest; this entire situation is the NHL.

If you commit the transgression, it's defend him/them until you pass out or die. If you're the recipient of the transgression, it's lock up the transgressor and throw away the key. Nothing ever changes; well, except for the fact that most of the hockey world despises both Sid and the Pens.

Meanwhile, DK reporting that Sid did not show up for the beginning of today's optional practice, though Sid's Dad is supposedly there. Geno, Cullen, and Hainsey are reportedly on the ice.

True enough...one thing did occur to me however in hearing opinion from multiple outlets...the entire SN/CBC desk went out of their way to say nothing to see here, it's an unfortunate incident. Meanwhile TSN, local papers here, etc seemed fairly split on the whole situation. Coincidence? Since SN is a league partner...perhaps not....

I can't post a link but Sully just said Sid and Sheary both have concussions are won't play tomorrow. Ridiculous that there was no further discipline for such a dirty play. Typical for the NHL I guess. I've never seen a league do so little to protect it's elite players.

So what do you guys see the lines being for tomorrow night and does Archibald get on the ice?

Not sure on the exact lines but...I can definitely see Cullen moving up with his faceoff skill and fleet feet for an older guy. I think Sully likely leaves Bonino right where he is, as he seems to slot in perfectly there. My money would be on Rowney (some speed/ skill) and Wison ( a bit of jam to get in the Craps face) getting the spots. Archibald is intriguing however, plenty of speed there....a bit of good news is a few black aces showed up from WB/S today as I understand. Pens certainly aren't void of forward depth , however losing arguably (for some) the best player in the world....well...irreplaceable...arrrghh!!! Not to mention Sheary...also missed.

Lets go Geno! Take the reins and keep a cool head!

NHLN Radio today was almost exclusively behind "the nothing to see here" idea, with a couple notable exceptions (Steve Kouleas and Boomer Gordon). Beyond that, everyone outside Pittsburgh is evidently rooting for the Craps, and every hockey cement head in the US and Canada feels Sid got what he deserved.

Patrick O'Sullivan......one of their biggest anti-Pens guy......made sure to defend poor TJ Oshie against the villain Chris Kunitz. Even Gordon's partner......the usually down the middle Scott Laughlin.......trumpeted the Craps for killing off the Niskanen major. Of course, he conveniently forgot that 2 minutes was eliminated with the concurrent Malkin minor. He also made it a point to say the Pens were lucky on both scores as they ricocheted through screens. Of course, he again conveniently forgot the first Craps goal wasn't even headed toward the goal before Flower intercepts the goal mouth pass and the puck bounced off Cole.

As for last night, my attitude hasn't changed; Niskanen may have committed the dirty deed, but without Ovechkin's two hander the incident never happens. Of course, just like Saint TJ, Ovechkin is completely blameless because this is, after all, the Playoffs.

It took a 5 on 3 PP and an OT PP for the Caps to beat a Sidless Pens team minus also Sheary. Given our record at home this year and the resolve of this Pens team, I feel extremely confident about tomorrow night. And does anyone foresee Geno going beast mode and dominating game 4?

He has done it before...more than once when Sid is out, he really seems to come to the forefront. Stay cool Geno is all I have to say...NO BAD PENALTIES! Easier said than done sometimes....my fingers are double crossed lol!

At ES we are better than the Caps. I have faith that Sully has the boys ready to play smart and stay out of the box. If we do that and MAF stays hot we win by more than one goal.

I read in the Trib this morning that the last time SC missed a playoff game was because of a broken jaw in 2013 against the Islanders. The Pens won 5-0. This is doable! Let's Go Pens!

Who's ready? I'M READY! Will the team be ready?.....Get on em early boys!.....Not sure I've been so engaged to see what happens in a 2nd round playoff game before....well...maybe? But I don't remember lol....LETS GO PENS!
