Nothing sinister afoot. Thanks for asking. I have been watching every game except when I was at the beach two weeks ago (but enjoyed Sirrius radio broadcast with Mike Lange and the old 29er). I read today in the Trib that since the history of the NHL about 20% or so (I don't remember the exact number) of teams that have lost the first two games at home have come back to win the series. Not a huge number but taking into account the way the good guys have been outplayed much of this series (as you and others have pointed out), I cannot relax until the despised ones have been dispatched. Let's Go Pens!

Agreed...hard to relax, I usually end up pacing for about half the game this time of year...which effectively drives the wife bananas. Matter of fact I don't eat too much either when the games mean so much, stomach in knots lol. So far so good on the score ledger...keep it up Pens!!!

So gents ....i just watched the opening 10 mins of the CBC panel here, they praised the Pens briefly (no Doug Maclean unfortunately), and then just completely lit into the Craps, not putting nearly enough blame on player 8 (he is the Captain, apparently last I checked), but roasting Shattenkirk, on numerous occasions (I have to admit why the heck didn't he pass it to 8 on that shot block and goal by Cullen...a stellar effort), and Holtby, apparently the word both the Leaves and now Pens have is go glove side as he has a bit of a hitch and drags it inward as the shot is released...whatever it is it's working...lets hope to see a quick strike outta the good guys here early for a change, the crowd should be amped right up!

And 7 D for the Craps says about all I need to know on what Trotz thinks of Shattencraps performance....that and a player only meeting led by Backstrom rather than the Captain also says a lot!

Now that Sid is gone......quite possibly for the rest of this season (and no question, he was on queer street when he left the ice)......I'd say this series has all of a sudden evened up a pretty fair bit.

Oh, and aside Niskanen's shot to Sid's coconut, nobody seems to be saying anything about Ovechkin's stick to Sid's head which caused him to lose balance to begin with.

Actually 8 axe-handled Sid twice on the same play; chopped him in the upper arm which turned him around, and then clipped his head causing him to lose balance and leaving him to be finished off. Of course, not a single word has been said about 8.....while Eddie O is falling out of the press box defending the "blameless" Niskanen.

Meathead Kypreos excuses it...says he didnt change position with his hands...as predicted. And here's the real shocker Frieds agrees??? Right after they show Niska**** crack him in the back game before , never mind the shot he gave Sid into the post after Kessels goal last game....

Wonder if Geno might decide to do something now other than grab a puck and throw it (and earn 2 minutes for his trouble). Meanwhile, it took Flower cutting off Backstrom's goal mouth pass......and the puck then deflecting off Cole.....for the Craps to back into their lead.

Flower still playing pretty solid, as is Holtby. Too bad Rusty couldn't convert on that breakaway late in the period.
