PENS 2021 Season!!

I went to the game when they changed to black and gold. They didn’t have home white and wore black at home that night. They had to get special permission from the league if I recall.

But I started following the team in the early 70s and really got hooked when Pierre Larouche joined the team. I was one of those little kids who went to bed listening to the AM radio. A young MIke Lange really helped me start loving the game with his colorful calls.

We finally watched Black Sails, really liked that show, also now towards the end of The Mandalorian. Just started it a few days ago, which is borderline criminal for a big Star Wars fan. I am quite impressed with it too.
Going to season 5 of Vikings next, which is a fave....

What's everyone's take on this DeAngelo kid, who the Rangers cut overnight Saturday after reportedly squaring off with goaltender Georgiev (and Steve Kreider) ??

Read on DK this morning that he's viewed to play defense like he's a winger.....excellent offensively but "as soft as it gets in his own end". I know the Pens need bodies, but I'm not sure this kind of kid (no matter what he's supposedly like off the ice) fits the profile of what they need.

Going strictly by what I've been reading, I don't want the Pens to chase him.
 
Just read that De Angelo had/has cleared waivers, and has been assigned to Hartford in the AHL

Appears to be a clubhouse cancer. Haven’t seen an update on Letang, so may need another defenseman.
 
Just read that Letang is being called day-to-day (and out of tonight's game) and is still considered to be under evaluation for an LBI........and it's DeSmith in tonight's goal.

Just read that Devils at Pens tomorrow night (TUE 2/2) is OFF due to COVID-related protocols pertaining to the NJD, who are said to have 10 players on the sit-out list.

Assuming that means all 10 players have to sit out a full week (as was the case last week with all the Russian Craps), it would appear Thursday night's game would also be postponed as well.

If that's the case, would you start Jars tonight? I would, you're paying him millions more and he is the #1... isn't he???

Seems pretty clear that Sully feels DeSmith is the better goaltender right now, so he's going to ride him for the time being.......and I don't think how much EITHER is making matters too much.

Both Devils games are off, don’t play until Saturday at Islanders.

sucks they have to cancel the devils series. just as I was getting used to watching hockey again.
 
Geno.......that idiot will pass up a shot from the slot only to pass it to a player with a far worse angle and scoring chance over and over.
 
Just a terrible loss. If they’re not going to try to move these veterans then Sullivan needs fired. They’ve tuned him out.

the pens winning is being held back by guys who are being kept to sell tickets in a time when you can't sell tickets.

I know it’s not popular & Mario won’t allow it, but I’d trade Crosby, Malkin & Letang. The run is over for this trio.

Well anybody can get traded as we have seen in the past.... Geno, sure, Letang, yup, Sid? Well I guess so but that would IMO be suicidal in some ways....besides he does give more of an effort than Geno for certain.

Anyway, glad I missed this one it seems....although no Pens for a week anyway.

If you're into true crime, check out Night Stalker: Hunt for a Serial Killer on Netflix. Richard Ramirez was evil personified. Unfortunately there were some snafus by LAPD or he could have been caught earlier and some murders prevented.
