Pens March.

Glad to see Gud out there keeping Wilson honest after the final horn had sounded....best game the Craps played against the Pens this year and they still lost......Craps coming in had won 7 straight and 9 of their last 10; awfully tough opponent to beat tonight......Murray came back STRONG after the 2nd GA.

In light of the 0-2 deficit, this might have been the Pens BEST win thus far in 2018/19.

Not only that but after beating another supposed juggernaut on Sunday...very positive results....

Now...somebody tell me that when I'm live on Thurs vs Buffalo this streak will continue...it's a roadie and usually that works out well here, last time in Buffalo when I was present we waxed them. No EICHEL, a day off before travel = no excuse in my books...
I am likely gonna be day drunk by puck drop after beering and winging with friends. Let's hope I don't shoot my mouth off too much around there....head down, get the job done ,gtfo. Can be a rough crowd at times in the self proclaimed Queen City ....

Been thinking a lot about our buddy, Tommy Wilson; the reason he takes so many free shots......and perhaps I'm the only one who didn't realize this until last night......is that, as a 1st liner, he's typically not on the ice with opposing enforcers. When the opposing goons are on the ice, TW is usually on the bench with a towel over his head.

But last night, Sully gave Gud got a lot of TOI versus the Kuznetzov line......probably a good thing with big 8 also out there running around, too.....and TW got awfully flustered when Gud stood up to him (and especialy after he got body slammed). Like all bullies, TW is no different in that he gets really pissed off when somebody takes him on.

After that 1st period plant into the glass.....and the late body slam......you can bet your arse that TW is already changing his future plans for games with the Pens. If not.....and if Gud picks his own shots intelligently.....I'll bet you'll see Wilson talking lots of retaliation penalties.

by the time a playoff series starts, "Gud" will be in the press box in a suit and wilson will be out there running guys.

Not so sure...depends on the team imo. If it's the Craps my bet says we see him dress...and injuries notwithstanding of course.

I just thoroughly enjoy a nice beating delivered on ole Tommy...

We are over half this arena lol...lets Go Pens!!

I'm spending the night in Cleveland, so no television for yours truly (Sirius XM Sabres radio)......the cheering for the Pens goals on the broadcast was surprisingly loud. Good job, t !!!!

And that's a wrap! I need to come to Buffalo more often...2 fer 2 ! Nice to get the W handily vs a team the Pens should beat!

Was reading in the Buffalo News a story claiming that Key Bank Center is quickly turning into a shithole; dirty, worn out seats, deteriorating concrete, shitty HVAC, even shittier concessions, etc. I was always under the impression it was a pretty competitive facility; but now that it's 20+ years old, I guess it's beyond due for renovation......which I understand would be expected cost at least $50 million (which is way below what other cities are spending on rehabs).

What's your take, t, on that place......as bad as the locals say, or are they just pining for a remodel to keep up with comparatively aged buildings in Chicago, Raleigh, and others cities ??

This is my second visit there...a few points...
The front entrance is pretty cool imo and the highlight of the facility. Reminds me a bit of the old grandiose train stations here or there around NA.
Entrance and exit is fairly efficient. Concessions are half decent imo and at least better than we deal with at MPS after the Reno (plus they do serve Yuengling rather than that Iron City $hit).
The seats are small compared to PPG, same legroom but rather slim, especially when you have a 250 lb lady (no not my wife lol) sitting next to you. The cup holders are falling apart, too large and basically useless.
Sound system is to be brutally honest PATHETIC.
Concourses are of a decent size but nowhere as large as PPG. Washrooms are efficient enough.
HVAC seemed ok to me, bout same temp as most arenas, somewhat cool but not offensive temp wise...
Key Bank is about same age as ACC (Scotiabank now or whatever now) here but ACC Surpasses it imo, and it ain't perfect either.
Like some of the rest of you I've been in a good many arenas over the years (Staples, Sunrise, KeyBank , ACC, Bell Centre, Canadian Tire Centre, PPG....maybe never again , ....and back in the day, Joe Louis, The Aud, MLG, The Forum, The Spectrum, and The Igloo).
Imo and hopefully not out of bias our barn is the best hands down, perhaps as it is newer but also because imo it was designed just right.
If I had to choose a second it would be BB&T out in Sunrise. Nice facility just a royal pain in the ass to get to...

After all that Yes, KeyBank needs a minor reno soon, but it is not a complete hole imo.

Thanks for the review......FWIW, the gripes I read about the HVAC is the the place is unacceptably cold (which I assume is a bigger problem in JAN and FEB than mid-March). I've also read that front entrance/atrium has always been considered to be THE architectural highlight of the building.

From everything I can glean, PPGPA is still generally thought to be among THE couple or three best in the League, as much for team history/exhibits as for basic architecture. I think it's thought to have been surpassed by Little Caesars in Detroit which, of course, is WAY newer (and, I think, was WAY more expensive to build).

I've still never been in PPGPA beyond the main entrance/gift shop (and frankly don't know if I'll ever get there for a game).

Hart in goal tonight for the Cryers, while Giroux is a game time decision due to illness (though he supposedly did skate this morning). No word as yet on Pens goaltender for tonight, nor if Letang and/or Rusty will dress.

As of 7pm, it's Murray back in the cage......and Rusty is a game time decision. Letang is out, but supposedly WILL accompany the team on the upcoming road trip
