Pens -- April 2017

That backward pass by Boyle was honestly Crosby-like, giving Kapanen the wide open net. Holtby is in the damn shower trying to figure that one out.

Win or lose, I have to give the Leaves credit for their performance tonight coming off the disappointing Game 1 loss.
I do as well...as painful as it is. Although man the Craps had a TON of chances to end it. And yep Holtby sayin...now where the F did that come from?
FYI I received a few texts saying 'Thanks for Kapinen!' To wit.........'THANKS FOR #81 AND THE CUP!'...Crickets...

And.....I will happily hijack the thread momentarily fellas!
My Petes have now swept both of their Eastern Conference playoff series with a big win in Kingston on Thurs eve. 8 in a row. Get to 9 and it ties the OHL record ...even better news is Oshawa was eliminated this afternoon, so the Petes will face Mississauga in the East finals...although i am disappointed to not have the opportunity to kick the Gens right in the teeth....not sure i have ever been to a game in the Shwa without crass commentary from at least one jackwagon, or some drunk miserable ingrate trying to engage....anyway i think The Steelheads present a better challenge regardless, although i am calling the good guys in 6.
Our Dylan Wells (Oilers draft) scored the first goal by a goaltender in Petes history to salt away the sweep the other night, link attached. Along with playoff preview.
The West is going the distance in both series with the Soo ,London, Erie , and Owen Sound fighting it out....i am really hopeful they beat the hell out of each other. Starting to think this year could finally be really special for us again here, not that it hasn't already...its been so long , and 8 in a row man! Yes sir! GO PETES GO! The mighty Maroon and White!!!
Looking at going either Thurs or Sat night with my buddy (also my bandmate), who lives right in 'The Borough'....maybe Saturday is better lol.

Pens firing things up 2-0, Petes on fire themselves now, deep into the playoff....ya think I'm proud as a peacock? You bet yur ass I am!!!! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
Lets hope our boys can throw those miserable Blowjackets right on the ropes tomorrow guys!!!:boxing:

The Flames series will be interesting the ducks have a history of choking so maybe the opportunity will be there to pull the upset.
Wow ...the Flames are in tough now after tonight! Although the 'Red Mile' in Calgary will be absolutely hoppin and rabid on Monday night, that was a big opportunity lost for them in game 2...terrible penalties and discipline outta them...Gibson looked pretty good for the Ducks too...

The ducks have choked in the past so I think Calgary can get back into it. The Maple leafs are giving the caps a tussel it would be funny to see the caps choke in the 1st round we know it will eventually happen like it does every year. Im happy about the predators I lived in Nashville from 1989-2003 and was an original season ticket holder from 1998-2003 I would love to see them Finish off chicago but I won't count my chickens until there hatched.

I didn't see any of the Flames-Ducks after having watched virtually every minute of the Leaves-Craps......guess I just had enough hockey for one night.

Meanwhile, nice to hear the Petes are mowing everyone down. The O needs SOMEONE other than London and Erie to win for once, and it might just as well be P-borough. And I know, t, you're even happier to see Oshawa go home than Washington, Philly, and Columbus combined.

Interesting to see the Black Hawks get whacked like they did last night. Obviously, like the Craps, they're good enough to win both games 3&4 on road, so neither series is even close to being over. But I love seeing the Hawks underperform THIS badly just several days after I read a piece claiming Quenneville is (literally) THE greatest HC in League history.

As for tonight, the simple fact is that the series remains close enough that one little break leading to a Blojax goal could turn the series around altogether. Of course, the pressure remains on them.....and Torts......until they tie it up. I certainly don't expect a sweep; but if provided Flower remains reasonably firm, I like the Pens chances to return home with chance to end it in Game 5.

I Had seasons tickets to the Predators from 1998-2003. I was an original season ticket holder. I love the way the 1st 2 games went in Chicago and I hope the preds can keep it up In Nashville. I won't breath easy until they win the series that's if they do.

I was telling someone last week how much fun games are in Smashville. Haven't attended a game there for about 3 years; since then, those last-second $10 gameday tickets I used to buy have presumably become pretty rare.

I would love to get there one day and not only see a game but explore the entire scene...especially being a (half assed ) musician the music scene I hear it is quite electric...however on our visits to Tenn we always seem to end up in the Smokies / Knoxville area which we do quite like a lot.

Ok...I am happy to see a 6 pm start as we had our Easter dinner yesterday (Btw happy Easter Eers and Pens fans),....I am literaly champing at the bit to get this thing going tonight and twist a dagger into these Blojax asshats! LETS GO PENS!!!

2nd avenue and broadway is were its at in Nashville. Most of the live music scene is on broaway. Its were you'll find most of the older establishments for live music.

Blojax get a break on the pass which hits the Linesman's skate, and then Flower commits yet another error with his glove hand on a play where Atkinson was left free in the slot. Hope that's not an omen for Fleury, who is WAY better at PPGPA.

And now, Bob gets caught looking at some skirt in the stands and Guentzel makes him pay.

Just realized my cable IS carrying the game on CNBC; ordinarily everything national would be blacked out in favor of the Columbus broadcast. Thank Gawd for that; not sure I can deal with Jeff Rimer and Jody Shelley if the Blojax end up scoring 10 tonight.

Flower looks absolutely lost; seemingly has NO clue where the puck is tonight.

And we're all doomed if he doesnt find it soon...although i will say this D in front of him tonight is completely limp...wake up!

Miserable effort by Wilson on the 2 on 1; had no clue what to do with the disc.

Pens leveled the ice somewhat in the last 8 or so minutes; just too bad they're down 2 rather than one.

I am hopeful that come period 2 as usual (which I dont know just what Sully says in there, but it usually works), the lads carry on with what we saw in the second half of first....fingers crossed...

CM i am trying to figure out whether i have the Columbus feed or not on SN...From what I'm hearing this crew is decidedly pro Blowjackets but not sure...i usually get either the Root or actual SN feed. Then again, the Blowjackets are traditionally out of the playoff picture so it is a new and hopefully brief expeeience...

On that last shift, Kessel sure looked to me like he was playing with a bad leg.....

Assuming SN doesn't have a crew in Columbus, there's probably a decent chance you've got Jeff Rimer and Jody Shelley. You can pick Rimer by the way he calls his team JACKETS and not the BLUE Jackets. I also noted tonight everything his team does is clean and product of good hard work while the Pens are only benefiting from a lack of calls.

You can also tell a Fox Sports Ohio broadcast by the scoreboard in the top left corner; Fox shows the SOG count whereas NBC doesn't show that on the screen.

Pens are fighting back like a sonovabitch.......Blojax did get a bad break when Werenski was down and they couldn't gain control to earn a whistle.

Pens need to cash in on this Foligno penalty; probably won'y get a PP in the 3rd period.

One of the better periods the Guins have played this season......I'm wondering if Milbury had it right in saying earlier the Blojax were running around so much in that 1st period that they were in danger of wearing down. I think that may be happening.

They could also use Werenski back in the lineup; if he's out the rest of the game, that's a big help to the Pens.

TOTAL INTERFERENCE! quit whining!

Pretty easy call when you drive the opponent into the boards. Foligno hasn't done much this series, and that's an example of trying to do way too much. Game's still tied, but I think a case can be made the Blojax are on the ropes.

Bob needs to play his best period of the series and hold the Pens at 3. At least Flower has settled down after a rough 1st, and I have at least some confidence he can make a big save if the Pens need it.

Former BJ's GM MacLean (yes i DO love his take pretty much always), is positively gushing over that Pens performance in the second, particularly Sid and Rusty...but then he is an East coaster so i am not surprised...he is also throwing Bob under the bus....
