Any good spots in Morgantown

Bars - High Street
Food - overall it’s typical run of the mill chain restaurants. Keglers has the best wings in town. It’s been so long since I’ve been there so if anything other than Boston Beanery and Texas Road House have popped up since 2011 then someone else would have to fill you in.
BBQ - not going to find anything in town that is going to be something you can’t find anywhere else

University Town Centre Hill, which is 2 miles or so from Mountaineer Field just off the I-79 exit for the quieter crowds, has

CHEDDARS

CHILI'S GRILL AND BAR

CRACKER BARREL

EVERGREEN BUFFET

LONGHORN STEAKHOUSE

OLIVE GARDEN

RED LOBSTER

If you want a more raucous crowd, then drive up Patteson Drive (left as you reach the WVU Coliseum from I-79 if you're coming in from Pittsburgh Airport) and you'll hit Boston Beanery and others. Just pick the place making the most noise.

Or find a tailgate party in the Light Blue or Blue lots. Probably get offers of free beer and food if you smile at our WV clothing.

Enjoy your visit to Morgantown. I haven't met a grouch among all the Big 12 visitors since WVU joined the Big 12. A welcome contrast to the Big East visitors who thought it was "hillbilly" clothing if you wore Levis. You know, the kind you wear in Texas. You'll feel right at home in Mountaineer Country.

We like country music, too, particularly "Country Roads," which we sing after every Mountaineer victory.

Welcome!

Jacks BBQ Grill and Jill's BBQ Grill both have good food. Yes both are owned by same individuals. Schmitts Saloon for food and entertainment. David Allen Coe will be at Schmitts Saloon the 17th but I believe the show is sold out.

Make sure the housekeepers wear gloves at the local hotel

I am kinda wondering about the strip clubs in West Virginia.
It could be that because jobs are hard to come by you will see a better level of women. More the regular women and less the out of work porn star type
Or
It would be a bunch of drug addicted single mothers with track marks.

What about some Texas Cookin in West Virginia

The baws and me are coming up to the mountains next weekend for the football game.

What is there to do in Morgantown?

Any recommendations?
How is the West Virginia BBQ? Has it been smoked over a few couches
Kegler's Sports bar near the stadium.
Atomic Grill for bbq
Iron Horse Tavern on High St.
Pies and Pints
And make a stop at Tin 202 on High St. It's a great restaurant in a former old time drug store.

You won't find BBQ in Morgantown to match Texas BBQ. You won't match Texas BBQ no matter where you travel. Nuff said. Now, I can tell you this about David Allen Coe and his shew at Schmitts Saloon. Be sure and wear your hard hat and steel toe shoes. Make sure you can run in the steel toe shoes. David Allen Coe can still sing like Merrill Haggard and Waylon Jennings but the shew is Coe himself. Warez

You are speaking about a man, in David Allen Coe, who cut his teeth in the honky tonks in the Southwest.

Let's just say that the ArkLaTex into Little Dixie in Oklahoma is a place even now that the ruffnecks still head to the HonkyTonk on Friday night and when there are no women to chase they find other fun including smashing each other's heads in.

Hopefully West Virginia enjoys the show because Texas culture is not just being spread in Morgantown on the field on Saturday.

Also would recommend Varsity Club, Marios Fishbowl (go to the original on Richwood Ave) and Mountain State Brewing Co.
