Just glued to the TV. We look good in places. Culver is learning quickly. Knapper didn't raise his stock in his brief appearance. Odd to see Bolden, Harler and Haley on the floor at the same time.Radio silence.
And we look great so far.
Knapper needs to be able at least to give a few minutes of rest to McCabe and Bolden and Haley. He has failed awfully tonight. Why the F was Knapper in game instead of McCabe????
He really earned that paycheck tonight. The football team is starting anew, I'd be surprised if Lyons isn't secretly greasing the gears of moving the basket program into a "new phase."Well ... Huggy and his lame ass motion offense just blew a 20 point lead. I feel sorry for our players trying to run that lame ass offense.
Just plain DUMB.

Lame a$$ motion offense also built that 21 point lead.
Don't worry, ole Huggs will fix it. We've got 12 threadmills with no handles running full blast waiting for them. They run till they puke, be reminded how fvcking terrible they are, how they can't make a god damn shot if their fvcking whore mother's life depended on it, and how god damn lucky they are to be given the grace of playing for the greatest basketball coach who has ever lived...despite being worthless pieces of sh1t. Yep, we got ole Huggins to make everything right. CFE says so.Still not fixed.

Wrong. The only reason we built a lead is because we were hitting the threes we were launching.
If we don't hit our threes we have NO offense.
HOF my ASS!

Huggs needs to give some of that money back. This is pathetic. No excuse. Huggs is playing, pimping the state of WV and WVU brass. Time to get him to retire. He recruits dumb.
Huggs assistants are a joke. Larry Harrison is howdy doody and Erik Martin is dumb as a rock and plain lazy. They are using and playing Huggs so hard. Stealing money. Huggs is stealing money off WVU. Nobody wants to play for Huggs nowadays. Most overatted coach in sports. Belien set him up to inherit success. Huggs needs to retire.
Yeah, you have to have a guard or even a small forward that is at least a threat to take the ball to the hole off that dribble drive and sometimes kick out to a player stepping into an open three. I wonder if Huggins will actually pull the redshirt from Doomes and if he can do some of this. I am curious, but not greatly optimistic. Maybe he will surprise.Motion offense is built on trust. Players run and sweat without the ball to create space and opportunities for teammates. They give up the ball expecting to get it back if they have an open shot.
Big men are expected to move away from the basket to set screens. Passes are generally preferred to dribbling.
Motion offense is built on knowledge. There are no set plays. Players must read defenses, anticipate where teammates will be and understand concepts.
(Our guards have no idea how to read a defense nor anticipate teammates)
Basketball is more and more becoming a game of isolation, a ball-handler trying to beat his man off the dribble. Increasingly a player who begins a possession with the ball finishes the possession with a shot. Less ball movement dampens the motivation for a player to move without the ball, as he is less likely to have the ball returned.
With a motion offense, a team is not dependent upon one player. You can dictate tempo with it. You can grind another team by making them defend multiple actions. The players also have much to gain from learning the motion offense
The NBA hasn’t helped breed a concept of team play. The pro game is all about one-and-done and isolation offenses.
John Beilein runs a motion offense. While it mimics the Princeton offense it varies in certain way. The 2-guard motion offense that Beilein runs is based off of a few things. First, the set starts in a 2-3, hence the name 2-guard motion. The basic motion set out of the 2-guard is based on v-cuts on the wings and a variety of back screens, flares and reading the defense. The key for the 2-guard motion is the ability to bring everyone away from the basket and having a versatile big guy who can step out and either be a threat to score or pass from the high post area.
Huggins has thrown in a mix where he’ll have a double screen for his ‘five’ guy to run off to the low post on. There is a combo of the Princeton offense + dribble drive with this open post motion. The goal is to leave the floor spaced so you can beat you’re guy off the dribble and there’s either late help from the weak side of people cheating so far over you have a clean look from three. At the same time Huggins has shown he’ll run the flex out of this set. He’ll mix up what he wants depending on his lineup and the open post motion just keeps defenses guessing.
We so far have nobody at guard that can do this. There are more teams in college that run it than you think.
