WVU Release WVU Baseball - Mountaineers Return Home to Take on Baylor

The West Virginia University baseball team is back at home this weekend, April 26-28, for a three-game series with Baylor at Kendrick Family Ballpark. First pitch on Friday is set for 6:30 p.m., Saturday for 4 p.m., and Sunday for 11 a.m.



All three games will air on Big 12 Now on ESPN+ and can be heard on the Mountaineers Sports Network on all radio affiliates as well as the Varsity Network, WVU Gameday App, and WVUSports.com.



Promotions for the weekend include Friday Night Happy Hour, Alumni Day on Saturday celebrating the 30th anniversary of the 1994 Atlantic 10 Championship team with a Coach Dale Ramsburg bobblehead giveaway, and Kids Day on Sunday.



Probable Pitching Matchups

RHP Hayden Cooper vs. RHP Mason Marriott

LHP Derek Clark vs. RHP Collin McKinney

The Mountaineers are 23-16 overall this season after dropping three games to Texas Tech in Lubbock over the weekend. In the Big 12, WVU sits in second place at 11-7 alongside Oklahoma State and Texas, all of whom are three games behind Oklahoma in the standings.



Junior JJ Wetherholt leads the Mountaineers with a .327 batting average while senior Reed Chumley has a team-high 10 home runs. Junior Kyle West leads the team with 32 RBI while also contributing with nine home runs.



Baylor is 19-20 overall this season and 9-9 in the Big 12 with series wins over Texas Tech, Cincinnati, and BYU.



Enzo Apodaca leads Baylor with a .349 batting average while Wesley Jordan has a team-high seven home runs.



Mason Marriott has been solid on Friday nights for the Bears with a 3-3 record, 4.17 ERA and 54 strikeouts in 49.2 innings pitched.
