WVU goes 10-2 and their reward is an unranked Miami team?

wrong again, amateur

Stew had one, single victory as a HC against a team that finished the season as a ranked opponent - 2010 Pitt

One

Meanwhile our current HC is heading us to another 11 win, GREAT season

So, you are now saying that how statisticians determine wins/losses versus ranked opponents is wrong....sorry. You don't write the stat books. But you do a good job at manipulating statistics.

We are 10-2......and beat every team NOT ranked this year. How about that? [thumbsup]

Oh...and Stew never lost to Iowa State or Kansas.......

Howard is a basket case right now....how about if we lose to an unranked Miami?

Go ahead and find the silver lining in that shit sammich.

To your argument....this is about what we deserve for not showing up when it counted.

Always a ray of sunshine on the board!

Some definition of "great" is different than mine:

1-0 vs. FCS Youngstown (10-3 record)
9-0 vs. teams with combined record of 47-61
0-2 vs. teams with a combined record of 19-5

Faced 4 FBS teams with a winning record....and was 2-2 (BYU and K-State at 8-4 were wins)

Now, that's a GOOD year......not a "great" year.

No he walked into ECU as a top 5 team and got blown out

Pathetically.....

While Dana had one bad season, Stew had 3 years of WTF losses like Colorado, UConn, and a 6-6 FSU

Thank you Dana for another great season!!!!

Thank you Dana for another great season!!!!

And you realize that 2008 ECU team had beaten a top 20 VT earlier (who won 10 games and the ACC that year), won 9 games that year, and at one point was ranked before finishing 9-5........not exactly at the caliber of a Kansas or Iowa State, though....I know.....[roll]

....oh, and we weren't #5.....we were #8.......

And in those 3 years of Stew, we beat ranked teams.........[thumbsup]

It could be argued that K State and BYU should both be ranked.

Basing the strength of a team on the "ranking" of other teams is pointless if those other teams are over-ranked.

WVU is getting a higher quality opponent in Miami than they would in Pitt. Also, playing in FL is better for WVU's program overall.

This will be the best defense WVU has faced all year.

10-2 and the best they can get is an 8-4 Miami team. This is an outrage If the team wins they were supposed to if they lose it will be a embarrassment. Nothing gained here outside of extra practice time.

He is a total goof...however I must admit this draw? I was hopeful for better...it is a dangerous match up. The EERS should go in confident...however realize these Canes have the ability to make a serious game of it...
The factor that bugs me the most is the Miami fan base is pathetic...

You guys are talking down on Miami like WVU is anywhere close to the caliber of program and prestige Miami is.

Like someone said beating Miami in Florida will do more for WVU than playing Pitt or anyone else from the ACC

This is what stew looked like after the Oklahoma game.
This is what Dana Holgorsen looks like after playing a much weaker Oklahoma team at home.

wow, 10-2 and we get to play on Dec 28th against an unranked team on their home turf...why do i feel underwhelmed. Everything went down the toilet when we lost all our rivalries and stopped playing the Backyard Brawl. At least we get 5 more years of Dana

WVU has been a far more relevant program over the past decade. The only thing Miami has done in that time is get a slap on the wrist for a huge booster scandal.

"The U" hasn't meant shit since they choked the NC game against the equally scummy Buckeyes.

Unranked opponent that is favored by 1.5 points. What does that say about WVU's ranking and the rankings overall. Vegas sure seems to think Miami is a better team than WVU. So do a lot of the advanced metric rankings.

S&P+ has Miami at #14 and WVU at #52.

FEI has Miami at #14 and WVU at #22.

F/+ has Miami at #15 and WVU at #40.

Sagarin has Miami at #20 and WVU at #22.

FPI has Miami at #16 and WVU at #21.

What a joke.

I'd like to see them eliminate bowl tie-ins, Big 12 bowl tie-ins are awful. And why can't we at least get Pitt instead of Miami? Brawl is more exciting and Pitt would bring more fans than Miami. WVU would sell more tickets if the opponent was Pitt instead of Miami too

Wonder if both WVU and Pitt can decline their bowl bids and play each other at Heinz Field for the Backyard Brawl Ketchup Bowl? Place would sell out and would be 100x more exciting than RAB vs unranked Miami.

We only played one good team all year, and we saw what happened.

Yawn all you want, but WVU got matched up against a team Vegas thinks is better than WVU, and nobody is better at this than Vegas.

The reality is, nobody respects a 10-2 team in the Big12, especially one that lost handily to both of the decent teams it faced.

Miami poses a significant challenge for WVU. Slowing down Miami's offense requires getting pressure on Kaaya. Unfortunately, WVU is one of the worst teams in the country at pressuring QBs. I suspect Miami is going to have a very successful day running the ball and throwing to our TE's.

Anything can be argued, but neither school is receiving even one Top 25 vote, so it wouldn't be much of an argument.

Miami's record over the last 3 years, 22-16 with one win over a ranked team, #22 ranked Duke and no bowl wins.

WVU's record over the last three years, 25-13 with one win over a ranked team, #4 Baylor and one bowl win.

Yes, because that all matters with a game being played 'this year'.

They are arguing which team is in better shape as far as the "state of the program", moron. Try to keep up.
And I'm telling you the state of the program the last three seasons doesn't matter for a game being played 'this season'. Please refrain from the name calling. It doesn't serve you well.

How is this relevant to the game on 12/28? How is this even relevant to my post or any of my posts in this thread?

Hey dude, Miami bitch slapped Pitt, you'll be sorry after the game

Forget the past.
Forget the state of the program.
The only thing that matters is who wins the game.

Miami is a talented team and I can guarantee they will be motivated on December 28th.

What is possibly gained by disrespecting a talented opponent on a chat board?
Some of you act like the game is will be won a chat board.

No offense, but this isn't happening....

The only thing holding Mike Harley back from decommitting from WVU is that WVU offered him a long time ago. But he has said numerous times that he is glad he finally got the Miami offer he has always wanted and will make a decision after he takes his Miami OV.
