Actually he made the extension before the Army game. And the extension isn't the problem it's the 100% of salary buyout he allowed him to have after the extension.

EGG and Asslop have made one bad decision after another at WVU. They are running the school and the athletic program into the ground. Baker seems like a good dude, but who knows what he thinks of all this mess. He is probably regretting the job by now. We're in a place where we may have to keep the worst coach in over 40 years because we're too broke to fire him. Fans are so conditioned to losing over the last 5 years, that 7-5 sounds great about now. We've sunken below where we really belong.

That was the best 3 win season in football program history because Rich Rod was in the process of rebuilding the roster to fit a completely different style of football than WVU had ever known. He did it and did it well. I wish we had a coach as good as he was now.

That would have been Catlett and gulp, Rich Rod. The same RichRod posters are clamoring for.
Actually Catlett and Cig where here at same time in 78 and 79. Gardner was here 74-78.
Gardner only had 1 losing season in 1977-78 year of 12-16. The rest were 14-13, 15-13 and 18-11 for 59-53. Catlett never had a losing season at WVU until 1995-1996 season.
