I really like DeSmith. Granted I know shit about Hockey, but man did he appear to have more net presence and calmness. This is a good game to play the backup in. Columbus is hot garbage right now offensively.
Lets extricate him from the hemp hut...one more this period does it!....of course I am waiting at that point for the goon squad to come out in full effect...
I think there's a decent chance Torts pulls him for the 2nd.
Speaking of Ohio in general...I figure you are the man to ask...I've wondered over the last few years, and now especially with all this talk of Seattle. I know they want to add in the West, but could Cleveland sustain/support or have enough interest in a team again? I assume most Clevelanders are Blojax fans mixed in with a few Sabres or Pens supporters? Could Cincy do it for that matter? Less population than Cleveland? Or hockey interest in your part of the state? Fill me in...
No indication I've see that Cleveland is considered by anyone to be an NHL candidate, especially with Columbus being set to fight any such idea. The city DOES have a good and suitable building, but Cleveland in winter belongs solely to the Cavaliers.....well, at least as long as LeBron James is in the League.
To me, the NHL in Cleveland makes about as much sense as the NBA in Pittsburgh.

The most quiet venue I have ever been to was game 2 last year in Washington. It was like a funeral procession walking out. It was fantastic.
