What has happened to this Sens squad from last year? Was that a mirage? Cause they are severely broken...I dont think Karlsson is coming back. They had to beg Alfredsson years ago...he goes and that club moves I have no doubt. Duschesne is a talent but they miss the two way play of Turris greatly....my Sens buddies are right out of sorts lol.

The Vanek bullshit aside, I'm reading more and more about other trades......like those for for Rick Nash and Jack Johnson.

Media thinks the Rangers will be demanding (and can get) a minimum of a #1 and a top (if not elite) prospect in return for a guy the trading team has as much chance to resign as STL did Shattenkirk last year. And others seem to feel the Blojax can actually get a lower #1 for Johnson.

Can somebody tell me what in the hell these friggin' media guys are smoking ?? Maybe Nashville.....who has plenty of prospects (and have just climbed inside their current Cup window)...... might be willing to buy high for Nash, but I don't know anyone else.

And speaking of the Blojax, I've also been reading/hearing they may be ready to cut their losses on t's best buddy in the League, Boone Jenner.

You know, the Sens got essentially no love from anyone on NHLN Radio in the preseason.

From what I can recall, it may have had to do with Anderson's unconcious run in last year's playoffs; the likelihood he'd recreate anything like that in the new season was evidently thought to be pretty small. Plus there was definitiely serious skeptcism as to how Karlsson would recover from that surgery; IMO, that's the core of the franchise's problems this year.

And it obviously hasn't helped that EK has come out publicly (I think) indicating he has no intention of giving Gene Melnyk any kind of discount. Which, of course, is the same reason why he wanted to move Turris......which may prove to be an even dumber move than the Canucks trading Bonino and a #2 for friggin' Brandon Sutter.

Of course, as a Pirates fan, I live with my own Melnyk-type in Bob Nutting; so I understand how much the wrong kind of owner can just nuke the hearts of a fan base.

Hey t, what is it with your Leaves buddies who are apparently all shook up over the 4th rounder they got for the Shoshnikov kid ?? From what I can tell from a distance, the kid did lilttle more for the Leaves than Sergei Plotnikov did for the Pens....... but the locals seem to think the Pope got downright hosed by agreeing to a #4.

Now, I realize it's part of the hockey fan's DNA to think their team's players are more valuable than the trading partner eventually does.....but what am I missing here ??
