Pens -- FEB 2018

need the pp to get the dagger here. and to pad some stats...

those dbag bolt fans on the main board talked a lot of crap about stamkos and kucherov running away with the scoring lead.

In fairness, it's a long season.....which makes a runaway for the Ross fairly unlikely. Still, it's kind-of hard to believe how much, and how comparatively quickly, Kucherov (in particular) has come back to the field.....or how the field has caught up to him.....considering how much he scored in the first 20 games when literally everything was going right for both the Bolts and himself.

I have nothing against the guy.....well, other than the fact he plays for TB.....but it'll frankly be funnier than hell if he's eventually passed and loses out on the Ross.

wouldn't it be great if all three passed kucherov?

Speaking of McDavid, did I see he had something like a 5-point game the other night......with 4 goals ?? Thought I heard he jumped from something like 16th in the scoring race to 4th in that one night.

4 goals against tampa

Two fairly tough ones on this little Midwest swing...gotta get on em early and light the lamp tonight. Safe to say they split the net for these two? Personally I'd go with Murray tonight...he needs to keep this win streak since returning going...

STL has been good pretty much all season, but the Stars are having a MUCH better season than I realized. I think I might be happy with 2 points this weekend (even if they lose both in OT). I myself assume there's a decent chance MM plays both games.

Meanwhile, everybody's favorite trade handicapper (Eklund) is claiming today the Pens are current the favorite for Thomas Vanek.....though we all know Eklund's opinions are about as meaningful as, well, mine. I think I'd be OK trading for him to fill a Miro Satan/Petr Sykora-type role, but I'm not sure I'd give up a #2 pick for him (which I assume is the minimum Vancouver would accept for him).

that's the first I have heard about vanek, no thanks.

I'll take matt cullen and ride with who we got.

Stars are a pretty damned good team; they can really skate, and not too many teams are as good at top of their lineup......4 or 5 years later, it's STILL a friggin' miracle to me it essentially only cost them Loui Eriksson to get god**** Tyler Seguin.

So, even though last night was more of the same old song......meaning, they can't hold a lead..... I'm glad the Guins still earned a point (though I didn't see the game tying goal). But to my eyes, that was as poor an OT as I've seen them play in a LONG time. How a good skating team like the Guins got outskated fairly notably by an opponent in the 2nd night of a back-to-back is something I can't quite figure.

The Vanek bullshit aside, I'm reading more and more about other trades......like those for for Rick Nash and Jack Johnson.

Media thinks the Rangers will be demanding (and can get) a minimum of a #1 and a top (if not elite) prospect in return for a guy the trading team has as much chance to resign as STL did Shattenkirk last year. And others seem to feel the Blojax can actually get a lower #1 for Johnson.

Can somebody tell me what in the hell these friggin' media guys are smoking ?? Maybe Nashville.....who has plenty of prospects (and have just climbed inside their current Cup window)...... might be willing to buy high for Nash, but I don't know anyone else.

And speaking of the Blojax, I've also been reading/hearing they may be ready to cut their losses on t's best buddy in the League, Boone Jenner.

Hope the Guins get off to a decent start today.......well, maybe like the one on Friday night :eek:kay:

Why is it the Pens draw the opponent's color man so frequently on their national broadcasts ?? If it's not Darren Pang against STL today.......it's Andy Brickley versus the Bruins.......or Joe Micheletti against the NYR.

Haven't said this very often this season......a very nice win on the road against a good opponent who came in playing very well. MM comes up in big in the kind of game you need your goatender to come up big if you're going to move up in the standings.

14 possible points left to earn in February; 4 games at home with two back-to-backers (TOR then at COL next weekend, then at CAR at FLA on 2/23-24). But if Murray plays like he did today.....and they don't encounter anymore injuries (though why won't I be surprised if Malkin comes up lame shortly).....they might be able to earn 12 points over that stretch.

Glad to see Sid start finding the net, because I'm worried that both Geno (injury or not) and Kessel are starting their inevitable respective cool down.

Im not really sure what the Preds will do at the deadline. I think they best they might be able to do is pick up someone on salary dump.

Well, they've already got the hockey media non-stop fellating them over giving Mike Fisher the job of centering their 4th (or 5th) line......not sure what else they need.

I would be happy if the preds picked up another winger but I don't know if they have anything to offer other then draft picks or prospects down on the farm.

I just read on DK's site that, since Horndog got hurt against the Craps on 2/2 (4 games ago), the Pens' PP has gone 0 for 10

if that's accurate its not too bad, I thought it would be way worse.

I'm excited to see is aston-reese can give them a little of what horny did in that role.
