The Pac 12 isn't going anywhere, but here's a simple fact you continually choose to ignore. The people/companies who actually place monetary value on these conferences and the teams in them and put up huge dollars to validate that opinion all value the B12 collection of schools significantly more per school than either the ACC or the Pac 12. There's no getting around it. Each school in the B12 gets paid a lot more money to be in the B12 than any schools do to be in the ACC or the Pac 12. Why do you think that is? (And don't make the straw man argument that it's because we only have 10 schools. If that were the case, the value of the media contracts would be reduced accordingly/proportionally.)
Here's a hint for you. The B12 isn't going anywhere for quite a while. When the revenue delivery streams shift permanently and current deals expire there may be realignment. It will be based on active fan bases and branding versus raw cable boxes. In that scenario WVU will among the very safest brands out there (our "Q Score" is very high.) It will be the small fan base privates like Wake Forest, Duke, Vanderbilt, etc. that will have to worry about continuing to be part of a P5 type football league.

You left out a couple of very important facts. The gravy train has existed from before and is not going to last under these conditions. So before you make statements supporting the Big12 think about the GOR that was not extended. Until Texas and Oklahoma commit to the Big12 for good your argument is based on blind faith. It will be interesting to see what negotiations look like in 2023-2024. Your entire 2nd paragraph is foolish and doesn't warrant a response.

toronto...was an investor and worked with them on format changes providing some independent musician programming through one of my Buffalo NY based companies...BuffaloTrax. Promoted Friendship Festival etc with them on both sides of the border.
Excellent!...I was supposed to go this year but had to cancel last minute. My buddy is a Buffalo born dual citizen now living in Fort Erie, and he raves about the party....next year for sure....was there for fireworks this July and they were amazing...his place is right on the water with a city view of Buffalo.
I understand what it currently is and where it's trending. The B1G took Rutgers to satisfy a flavor of the month need for cable footprint and expanding for the sake of expanding. Right now the leach schools are basically grandfathered in and some represent crucial footholds in "markets" they don't actually deliver in any meaningful way other than proximity and being bundled into cable packages. As cable moves to streaming and "a la carte" options the schools like Rutgers who delivered only cable bundles will be exposed as worthless, and eventually it will be a game of chicken to see which conference fires the first shot and dumps a Rutgers, or Vanderbilt, or Wake Forest, or Iowa State, or Boston College, or Northwestern, etc etc...

Toronto...Memories. Did the 4th of July part of the gig on the Buffalo side at the park right off the 190...US Customs held up the Canadian band at the Lewiston crossing. Had to send Erie County sheriff eetc to the border to work it out...meanwhile 30,000 people were waiting as the fireworks ended and I was going crazy! All the Buffalo TV stations were getting nervous...BTW: as a performer I did the M % T series downtown a couple of times myself.
That's actually incorrect. When Colorado and Nebraska left the conference, the television contracts were not reduced.
The big 12 homers don't understand that the big 12 gravy train will be derailed when the current Gor expires. The Long horn network is a complete failure and nobody outside of the big 12 has any interest in watching a lousy product. The majority of big 12 teams would leave in a heartbeat if given the opportunity.

If you dont see the pattern of drastic change happening in the college landscape then you probably struggle to keep up in all other walks of life.
The next round of expansion will have everything to do with which conference can produce the most must see TV events and nothing to do with the city a school plays in or near. When millenials are eventually University presidents, they wont care that a bunch of gomers in the 1950s thought it was a good idea to include Wake Forest in their good ole boy conference and that they should be given lifetime amnesty for horrible on field results. Theyll just see dead weight and cut it accordingly.
