Neal Brown in Preliminary Talks for Extension to Current Deal

New athletic director Wren Baker says he’s already enthusiastic about this fall after watching spring practice. A reporter asked him about Neal Brown’s status and Baker replied, “in taking to President Gee, we are optimistic about this season and the energy this staff is showing each day.” In other interviews, President Gee has pointed out how he believes some of the new hires, especially Chad Scott and Rasheed Marshall, have many in Morgantown buzzing about a run for the Big-12 championship.

Several former players in town for Pro Day, including Jarret Doege, Bryce Ford-Wheaton and Dante Stills watched a recent practice and according to Stills, “the atmosphere is the best it’s been in in many years”.

While Coach Neal Brown has a record just below .500, the off season turnaround has many in the AD office hyped for this season. An unnamed source in the athletic department confirmed Baker has had preliminary talks with Brown’s agent about a possible extension to his current contract, set to expire in 2026. While this hasn’t been met with enthusiasm with some of the fanbase, the source reiterated these are just preliminary talks and nothing is likely to happen until later this year.

Happy April Fools' Day to you also.

Here we go again. This conversation may or may not have taken place. Probably not. After all, it is April 1. But the delusionalists are always projecting that domination of the B12-2 is just around the corner.

Says the fan of a school who has one lone conference title since leaving the MAC and was an OT loss to Western Kentucky from going to the Peach Bowl. Your only signature moment was a win in South Bend over a lousy Notre Dame team. If only Tron had not fumbled on 9/10/10.

And WV has how many conference titles? And ND wasn't a lousy team. I believe they were fairly high ranked.

Can't believe this is even being talked about - nothing, absolutely nothing should be talked about until THE END of the season. Is Wren Baker doing an impression of Shane Lyons?
