WVU Release Neal Brown contract extension

The plan for WVU should be improving the talent.
If those players leave it still helps WVU.

Just have to learn how to turn things into positives.

That means WVU is developing talent. Use that to get more. Not everyone is going to leave.
What if those players fail?
WVU then has proof why players should stay
I did not see much out there last year that impressed me. The most impressive player left.

Yet, when Holgorsen lost a player here or there YOU BASHED HIM MERCILOUSLY.

Your boyfriend Brown is losing MORE than his share of players. He has lost half a team of players in just a couple of seasons. Players do not leave where they want to be.

Holgorsen won far more than he lost. Won the second most games EVER at WVU against the toughest schedules ever faced. Not sure where in the world that classifies as a FAIL?

Do you know what a FAIL is? 5 wins per season is a FAIL. Brown is even at wins at this point, because WVU canceled the OU game so he could eke out a G5 win in a bowl game to get above .500 last year.
Link to said bashing.

The only real losses for West Virginia, and they're big ones, are Tykee Smith and Dreshun Miller. The Mountaineers fill two major needs with Nester on the offensive line and Dixon at linebacker. From a numbers perspective, it looks bad. However, once you break it all down, WVU is actually adding to their roster rather than subtracting.

This would be like Poolers 6th season? So if not for the pandemic he would have been gone already.

Lost the second most as well. (61-41) His Winning percentage was ranked 18th. The fail part was never winning Big 12. That seems to be your argument for hating Brown who has only been here for 22 games. So you have set yourself up on that one troll bitch.

OU canceled the game first because of Covid contact. WVU canceled the game next due to covid contact. Your arguments are like a roof that leaks water. It's full of holes. WVU was going to a bowl game no matter if the OU game was played or not. I seem to recall Holgs getting ass spanked several times by OU and never beating them.

Holgs couldn't even eke out a bowl win when he had this so called super talent against the weakest P5 teams that couldn't beat G5 schools. (2-5 in bowls) Hell he can't even beat G5 schools now coaching at Houston and destroyed a team ready for a top 10 finish with a Heisman candidate QB.

Holgs masterful first year that you cry over...
Marshall 7-6
Norfolk State (FCS 9-3 first round losers in playoffs)
Maryland 2-10
Bowling Green 5-7
UCONN 5-7
Rutgers 9-4 (who doesn't beat them)
Cincinnati 10-3 (QB was injured and squeaked out a win)
Pitt 6-7
USF 5-7
Clemson 10-4 (this Clemson team lost 4 of their final 6 games. Big win yes but it's not like they came in as the best team ever)

That year to tie for the conference but still earn the right for the Orange Bowl they needed to win their final 3 because they lost to Syracuse and UL. Needed Cincinnati to finish their final 2 games as wins so they would have tie breaker. Really needed UL to lose one of final 2 and they did losing to Pitt plus they lost to UC giving WVU the tie breaker. They needed Rutgers to lose to UCONN and they did.

The loss by UL was the real clincher. So basically he backed into the Orange Bowl going against a good Clemson team that struggled down the stretch but ACC is weak so it helped keep them in first.

After that first year with Stewart's team and the following year with Stewart's team.
Year 1 backed into BCS
Year 2 Failure with 7-6 record of the same team that score 70 on Clemson. Year 3 total embarrassment.

Good coach for the time we needed but no experience and ran a poor program from administration stand point. He never got over the hump with his own players.

Brown just now starting to get his own players and in 3 more years counting this one coming you will know exactly what they have.

Watch the TCU game.

This is who Neal Brown wants to be. Getting better players will mean he can do this against better teams.

Very methodical. Neal Brown isn't the coach you want with a better team.
The problem of course is him getting that team

Leddie Brown is the most important player for WVU

WVU has players who can fill in at safety
The player they got from Arizona could be very good.

Did RR's final recruiting class dip because he knew he was leaving and didn't put everything into it?

Holgorsen posted only 3 7-6 records. He also posted two 8 win records and two 10 win records, something always left out. One losing season the second year of the B12 dropped his overall "average" number of wins to right where WVU coaches have historically been--but that "average" has been used to pretend he didn't also produce two 8 wins and 2 10 win seasons.

Recruiting wise, Holgorsen pretty much maintained the historical average of WVU recruiting, the last full year of recruiting at WVU-2018, Holgorsen had WVU at #33 Rivals which was an improvement not a decline. 2017 was at 51--but that was because the administration wouldn't extend his contract leading into that years recruiting so several players that were expected to sign did not.
Your so full of shit you can smell it on your breath.

For some reason he quit recruiting Florida. What a dill hole.

SO if the recruiting ranking is higher its the coach but if it drops it's the administrations fault. I've heard it all now.

During Holgorsen’s time at West Virginia, the average recruiting class ranked sixth in the Big 12 and 41st overall in the nation. That seems bad at first glance, but West Virginia’s densely populated state and distance from other Big 12 schools should be considered. 6th in the Big 12 and 41st in the nation is very commendable.

Taking over a program with no real experience is difficult to begin with, but Holgorsen is not a great leader of people which makes it even more challenging. At best, he’s a mad scientist type, a loner, an introvert in an extrovert’s position and role. He does things his own way because he simply can’t do it the way others do it. Not wearing blue and gold, a slap in the face to West Virginia fans, was worn as a badge of honor for Holgorsen. He wasn’t one of us and never wanted to be. He wanted to coach football and not do any of the other bullshit media obligations, interactions with fans, or anything else other than Xs and Os. The fans and administration overlooked all of this because of the excitement surrounding his explosive offense and the fresh start that he represented. He is much better-suited as an assistant coach and really had no business being hired as a Head Coach by West Virginia in 2011.

Bowl Games Holgorsen’s teams finished 2-5 overall. His only big bowl game win was his first season when WVU routed Clemson 70-33 in the Orange Bowl. The other was a 43-42 win against Arizona State in the Cactus Bowl. That Orange Bowl win was huge but the rest of his bowl games were a real disappointment.

Holgorsen’s overall record was 61-41 (.598 win percentage). Although he managed to have a few outstanding seasons (10-3 in both 2011 and 2016), his time at WVU was largely disappointing and extremely average overall.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Neal Brown was widely seen as one of the best young coaches in the nation while at Troy. Coming off three consecutive bowl game wins and a 31-8 overall regular season record in the past three seasons, West Virginia was extremely lucky that Brown was still available when Holgorsen left for Houston.

Coach Brown has a flawless record with past players and administrators, as well as with current WVU players and administration. His leadership and ability to teach and work with young people is his strong point. He kept the entire incoming recruiting class his first year and has brought huge excitement back to the program.

Brown has impressed current in-state recruits and appears to be well on his way to landing big-time West Virginia high school players, particularly in 2021.

Neal Brown is 4-0 in his career in Bowl games.

There’s no reason to not believe that he can’t win at West Virginia.

West Virginia is the No. 4 team in the Big 12, which is what they want to see. But the Mountaineers also are only No. 37 nationally in the 2021 recruiting rankings, which offers room for improvement. But still is the average for WVU all time.

WVU 2022 recruiting ranking is 33 and 6th in Big 12
WVU 2021 recruiting ranking 37th and 4th in Big 12
WVU 2020 recruiting ranking 40th and 4th in Big 12
WVU 2019 recruiting ranking 48th and 7th in Big 12 (kept all of Holgs recruits and improved the ranking by bringing in more)

Well look there. Improvement every freaking season.

Everything I've stated is true, meanwhile the $h!t flows out of you like a flood daily.

Your hatred of the previous coach and staff is your own issue, but you've gone out of your way to try to make it everyones. Despite the successes you worked day and night to push him away and now he's gone.

Now WVU has a 5 win coach and you try to paint him like the second coming because you know how incredibly wrong you've been, but your enormous ego just refuses to admit what a douche you are.

WVU fans want to see success for their teams that they invest time and money into, and for them its a legitimate question as to why you would extend a coach that has produced 5 wins per season in each of his regular seasons, and has defeated 4 of nine teams in the BIG 12 in two seasons--Kansas being one of those four.

Instead of constantly trying to throw excuses about the successful previous staff out as cover for your asinine worship of the current coach, its time to let go of that bull$h1t and start dealing with what you helped put in place--a disaster so far for any program that is trying to have success--not sure who else might've retained him let alone extended him at this juncture.

As to an article--its meaningless. They are looking at what he accomplished at a G5 program. Not at what he has done at WVU in rating him. In two years with the results he is producing at WVU do you think he'll be on that list? Please. Stop licking his b@lls and admit how wrong you were as you are about nearly everything you post, or better yet just STFU. You may not believe what your eyes tell you but that doesn't mean anyone else needs to swallow you b.s.

You are the dumbest of the dumb and anyone can look at every trolling post you've made, pretty much anytime anyone posts anything--there you are trolling.

You chased away people here before I even started posting.

Every day during the last coaches stay at WVU there you were bashing, attacking, lying, trolling. Before he was even HC.

Now, as soon as anyone posts anything you don't "approve"--rush in and troll attack. Its on every page, damn near every thread.

You are a disgrace and I seriously doubt have any connection whatsoever to WVU sports.

You don't live in reality. You're a liberal it's what you do. I seriously doubt you know that I know who you are more than you know.

Like I've said show me the bashing.

If you would actually chat with some sound mind of reality people might not think your a dumbass.

People can't just support their College. WVU fans can be so embarrassing.
Obviously you never went to one. Colleges reflect specific concentrations of study. When many are bonded they are a university...as in West Virginia University. P5 and most D1 schools are universities. Hope this helps you.

Yeah folks are going to be talking about that good old six win season in the obviously talent rich Big 12-2=10 last year for 50 years or so! That big win over Army in the can't remember its name bowl sure was the capper. Looked bleak for a while until Neal rallied the lads! Set the bar high for Mountaineer fans though. Gonna be expecting six wins every year I reckon!

Bill Stewart .700
Rich Rodriguez .698
Jim Carlen .646
Bowden .618
Don Nehlen .614

Thanks for playing.
Stewart and Rich are misleading. Very light schedules. Dude those are on average a little over six win seasons. Really?

So if WVU went 0-10 that would have made you happy?

Because 6-4 with a bowl win with no nfl talent... seems like all it did was make you more angry.

Just realistic.
If you are a realist, You Are Not Brutal. You approach every situation and you speak to everyone with wisdom. Being a realist doesn't mean you are right, a realist is not brutal.

A realist gives needed feedback that will help improve future situations or prevent unwanted skirmishes. Realist usually are the mediators in conflicts (that is far from you). You bring more conflict than anyone.

You are more pessimist than anything. You're a person who tends to see the worst aspect of things or believe that the worst will happen. Being too pessimistic can have negative effects on your mental health and exacerbate certain mental illnesses or issues.

Myself I lean toward optimist. A person who tends to be hopeful and confident about the future or the success of something. A person who believes that good must ultimately prevail over evil.

Optimism is an attitude reflecting a belief or hope that the outcome of some specific endeavor, or outcomes in general, will be positive, favorable, and desirable. If not then it wasn't meant to be move on to the next. The best thing about optimism is you can learn it, even if your outlook tends to be more pessimistic.

Ahhhhh The internet gives and takes away.

Darius is in the NFL now. His brother will be and so will Tykee Smith. There was NFL talent on the roster.
