2016 Stanley Cup Finals

Pens have been hitting Jones in the shark's nose quite a bit tonight....

Unlike the 2nd and 3rd periods the other night, this 3rd period has FLOWN by.....

Well, the series continues....... I just KNEW the fact everyone on NHLN Radio picked the Pens was the kiss of death. Now, since essentially ALL of them will go back to picking the Sharks on Sunday, we can get back to normal.

Well....you fellas would know better than I...I could only get to the tv from mid 2nd on....how did Murray really look? That bad? He has bounced back before is it something you see happening if those 3 were weak? Just gave these F'ers life...don't like it at all....

To my eyes, Murray was as poor in that 1st period as he's been at any point since he took over; no question in my own mind he was very tight on the shorts last night......and perhaps understandably. You'll have to see the replays to understand what I'm talking about, but the Burns goal was far worse than Donskoi's game winner; MM gave him both the top corner and the near post.

I think Couture deflected the second slightly, so no issues for me with that one (other than the fact the Pens defense left him totally alone). Then, the third goal was another of those Murray-gets-a-piece-before-it-squeezes-under-his-armpit goals we've regrettably gotten so used to seeing. All I know is that I'm hoping to survive this series, and Mike Bales goes to work with Murray (maybe starting the day after the series is over) on those two issues which seem to be the way everyone beats him.

Anyway, the Sharks honestly had very few opportunities after the first period, because the Pens had the puck most of the time. But after hitting the post 3 times in the 1st period with the score 2-2, you just knew the Pens were destined to have trouble scoring the 3rd goal. For any Pens fan (and I'm not talking about anyone here) who can't seem to figure out why Craps fans were so livid after the game where Murray stoned them, now they know how it feels.

Pens are (and should be) disappointed this morning, but I myself see no reason why they shouldn't be able to return the favor on Sunday night. That is, if Murray's composure makes the trip (and though I'm worried about continuing to test this he-always-plays-great-after-a-bad-game quality he's shown)

Murray himself admitted he was suffering a bit of the nerves at he start of the game. No reason to think he will not bounce back Sunday night. However if he is shaky again and they lose, God forbid, I think HCMS will have to seriously consider MAF for Game 7 in Pittsburgh where the pressure will be enormous.

Reasonable day-after perspective this morning from Ryan Wilson.....who I think is by and large a pretty good writer even though he bases most all his opinions on on pure analytics.....on Eklund's site; with a 3-1 lead, the Penguins were afforded the luxury of having some cushion against losing a game like this.

He says "trust the process", which would also be an analytical assessment (but one which I think in this case is useful for those of us stuck dealing with things emotionally)

Changing it up for a moment to the story of the day in hockey; the death of Gordie Howe. I'd never seen the following picture before it popped up this morning on my Facebook news feed; but for those of us from outside Detroit, I seriously question whether if anyone had a clue as to how this guy was actually built.

I heard a great description on the TSN tribute today....'by 16 he grew stronger and taller than a stalk of Saskatchewan summer wheat'...and what a physique in that image. Only ones I could imagine similar would be Messier or S. Stevens....who themselves I'm sure had more than one Gordie Howe hat trick....RIP #9 ....

Last nights loss was on me...

The woman dragged me away to watch Warcraft... and we didn't score after that.

Sorry guys...

I'm hoping you're a soothsayer with this predict 82!

The fish will only go as far as Jones takes em, which would have to be an outstanding effort to go further...meanwhile Murray simply needs to be 'good enough' imo....don't care anymore if it's at home or on the road...just get it done...and soon Pens!!!

And how was it anyway? I'm no gamer but the special effects looked pretty damn cool on the trailers I've seen...decent storyline? And need to see on the bigscreen or your average large flatscreen at home will do?

Tonight our boys end this and bring the cup back to the burg! Murray will have the best game of his young career, all four lines will get points and our PP and PK will win the game for us. So enjoy this beautiful Sunday evening fellas and make sure youre stocked up on your favorite Beverage. Tonight the PENS WIN!!

There he is! Well said!....now...since my satellite has up and quit during todays bloody windstorm we will see just how my CBC Sports app links up to the tv...arrrgh (insert angry face here)! I have also heard 'Reddit'? Anyone with any experience with this type stream???

I don't care what it looks like or how it goes; all I want is for the Pens to leave the ice with one more goal than the SJS. As for your dish problems, t, all I can do on your behalf is provide my :weary:

Pens skating well thus far, and seem to have the better of the early play even though no good SOG yet.

I assume the stripes will be looking for a call on the Pens.....

I loved the hesitation Dumoulin made on that shot....I don't think that Maatta play was dirty really...you guys? He just fell into the boards awkwardly imo....the Sharks fans disagree apparently. ..

I couldn't give two shits what Sharks fans want......screw 'em. Meanwhile, great defense by Kunitz on Ward. And yes, Dumoulin looked like Letang on that play.

I did not detect a penalty at all on the Maata play, but was expecting some kind of make-up call.

What kind of odds would you have gotten on a GF combination of Dumoulin from Schultz and Kunitz ??
