to MountaineerWV re: Dr. King

Here's one last one boom. Do you think a person living in the best run Socialist country would leave it if they had a chance or were free to do so? If they wouldn't, where is that? If they would, where would they prefer to leave for or where do you think they would go?

I wish you could realize that you are having this argument in your own head with the monster “leftist” boogie man you’ve created to be the source of your ire.

Are we trying to debate whether socialism or capitalism works best? Even though I myself asserted that only a mixture of these ideological approaches to policy will create overall success? And pointing to many nations, including Holland where the Dutch have many options on the table each election, and have implemented many socialist solutions to policy, is simply not good enough for you because you seek an absolute showdown between capitalism and socialism. However, even with capitalism, the “pure” and “absolute” example you seek just doesn’t exist, not on either side of that comparison. Yet, you continue to sling your misconceived and Misinformed foolishness around the thread as if it means something....esp when referencing the main points that began the thread....that MLK believed in socialist ideology, that ones Christianity has NOTHING to do with whether or not they support socialist ideology, and that you know very little about Marxism.

And even when I literally pick apart your foolish questions, you just thunder away with more questions. Here’s something atl.....STOP WITH THE FVCKING QUESTIONS, if you seek to make a point do so. We aren’t in a classroom. But no, simply asserting your opinion isn’t enough. Through questions, you get to shape the debate the way you choose. Again it’s an effective trick, but an old one.

It’s very ironic that you then blame me for not asserting my points, and the reference is the lack of answering your questions. You claim that’s a sign of the weakness of my opinion. I took one question and clearly identified that the weakness isn’t in my opinion, but rather in your understanding of the concepts you attempt to address with your question in the first place.

Namecalling and gifs....sad to say....make more sense then debating with you. That’s the “absolute truth”.

Boomer I went to West Virginia University (I assume you did too?) I majored in Journalism with a double minor in Political Science and Speech Comminications. Anyway my point is during some of our classes on Soviet Foreign policy, American Capitalism vs The Socialist challenge and Economics: A new social order or redefinition of the established one...these questions were vigorously challenged and debated. We wrote term papers around these themes and had to back up our analysis. We challenged assumptions and defined conclusions in an attempt to understand and hopefully advance our knowledge.

There is nothing different I'm doing here with you boom My Man than what we engaged in those hallowed Halls of Chitwood, Woodburn, Brooks, Ogelby, and Martin.

Now if you can't hang or don't want to participate that's cool just say that. But spare me all of your pontificating and dismissal of my queries as sone sort of ignorant attempt to prove my superiority over you. We don't agree and that's fine. If we can't honestly defend or debate our positions that's fine too. That however is the best way to learn what is right and what is in error which is what I thought we pursued higher education for?

You don't want to answer....I'm good with it.

Oh what your doing is much much different. This debate was NEVER about capitalism versus socialism, and it certainly was never about the communist state. It was about whether MLK had socialist ideology towards the economy, and whether that ideology was “less socialist” by some degree due to his Christian affiliation.

I reject that foolish notion that one cannot have socialist ideology due to the fact that socialism calls for the supremacy of the state. I discussed the points of Marxism that advocate for a weak control of the state actually, and the power of the worker over production.

Moreover, there have been many christians throughout history that have advocated for socialist solutions, including MLK, and there are many nations that encourage diversity of spirituality and also enact socialist policies initiated by people of different faiths with socialist ideology.

I have rejected (NUMEROUS TIMES) your pitiful attempt to steer the debate into a capitalism versus socialism debate, because 1) I do not believe in an absolute political system that clings to any certain ideology, and actually cherish the diversity of our political scope in this nation, and 2) IT ISNT WHAT WAS BEING DEBATED OVER 10 days ago when this bs started, but I just simply your attempt to dissolve the debate down to the point / counterpoint argument to with you feel comfortable.

Also, your constant attempts to make everything about capitalism versus ALL OTHER POLITICAL IDEOLOGY and Christianity versus ALL OVER SPIRITUAL OR PHILOSOPHICAL thought processes is petty, divisive in nature, and extremely unAmerican. It makes me very adamantly want to expose this foolish passion to you, in a feeble attempt by me to help you understand and cherish the American experience.

Your conservatism, your Christianity, your economic love affair with free enterprise and the free market not withstanding....it is your approach to thinking that is different from your own that is a failure of Democratic essence, and is in stark contrast to the sentiment that has made this nation great. Although you believe the opposite, which is unfortunate and frustrating, if you would slow yourself down, you’d see this fact.

You know what's funny to me about you boomer my Man?

You actually spend more time explaining why you don't answer my questions rather than just answering them! Just about any question I can ask you invariably gets this deep 'analysis' behind the lunacy of the question, or my intent for asking it, or my strategy, or my mental positioning. It's funny.

Hey boom...I know you can't answer. It's quite amusing reading you explain why you don't.

I'm going to say this to you so you handle it either in your relativist reality or my absolutist terms OK boom. Doesn't matter, won't change what it is one bit. Here goes:

Freedom, Free people, and Free markets always work better than Socialism, Communism, or any of its iterations under the guise of Government controls over people because the natural yearning of the Human Spirit is to be Free, and Free people will always choose Freedom which will always work best for them as long as they recognize that with their Freedom comes personal responsibility and the most basic part of that component is Morality & justice.

Without morally responsible Free people operating in Justice with respect for both their Freedom and just, moral obligations towards their fellow Free Men, Freedom cannot work and will quickly descend into immorality, injustice, anarchy, and ultimately lead to Totalitarian controls over Freedom often found under Socialist systems of Government. Socialist systems or Socialism don't work because it is neither Free nor Just, nor moral because it runs counter to the yearning of the Human Spirit which in its essence is not meant to be controlled or limited except through reverence for the author from which all Freedom emanates...the Creator...Yahweh God.

Socialism rejects this preeminence over Free & just people, and attempts to replace that authority with a Secular humanistic State that neither recognizes nor promotes individual Freedom or justice except for its own power and that is why it ultimately always fails and will always be inferior to Free markets and Free people who honor Godly morality & Justice freely.

100% absolute Truth.
