Same for numerous other illnesses. WITH COVID-19 we have had no readily available tests. They are being developed and released, but are still not easily accessed. In addition we have no currently widely acceptable treatment or prophylactic agent. without a diagnostic agent and/or a trusted treatment we have fear and panic and isolation. Many Drs. are treating COVID with one or more agents and claim excellent success. But, we have Trump haters throughout (especially among the non-medical, non-scientific, Trump hating press and others, including some Physicians, who seem only interested in treating patients to save their loves IF there have been numerous studies of hoards of people over many years with no incidence of negative results and not having a Donald J. Trump supporting the treatment).
The desired tests are being developed for BOTH the virus and the antibodies resulting from infection (or immunization when a vaccine becomes available). We are not yet there, but we will fill these gaps in the near future.
