Youth motivated to political action, and there just has to be a conspiracy theory

Well, I think some of the kids in the picture that was posted probably think the NRA has lobbied to prevent gun control legislation from getting passed, and see that as partially responsible. And I can only imagine that some think the President of the United State has some say on what happens with regards to policy in the nation. But I’m only speculating, cause I’m not in the picture that was posted, and I don’t blame Trump or even the NRA.

If the kids were properly informed, they'd understand both Trump and the NRA don't oppose increased restrictions on the ownership or acquisition of the type of weapon that was used in that massacre. The NRA in fact has never stood against gun registration (they often sponsor gun registration drives) and as far as I know Trump isn't opposed to increasing age restrictions, enhancing background checks, limiting certain kinds of gun clips (like bump stocks) or arming personnel in schools to prevent more of these types of heinous tragedies. The kids are passionate, but uninformed.

Why the need to run down the kids? They’re pissed for good reason, and they are taking action. I think it’s commendable. They aren’t sitting around an x-box shaking their heads about it. They aren’t just crying at candle light vigils. They are taking an active role in trying to effect policy.

I say keep it up!

It doesn’t matter. They want action....he’s the President.

I know you don't....but a lot of people do and even some in the media do. Iet me ask again....did you see and anti Obama signs after Sandy Hook ?

Nope. No protests over the Obama administration's gun running to the Mexican Drug cartels either. Some of those weapons were traced to gang land killings in America and a border patrol agent was also killed by one of them in a shootout with the Mexican Drug Lords along the border.

Any protests to "stop the violence"? Nada.

Not running them down.

I respect them, and encourage them. But they will become first disappointed, then disillusioned if they think they are going to successfully lobby voters to ban guns. That appears to be their call, but they are unaware of the fact that it is not only unconstitutional, but unlikely given the level of mistrust Americans have for the Government.

I'm with you in encouraging them to get active and get involved, I'm just suggesting they also need to get informed before they become disappointed.

Nothing wrong with aiming high. They just want action, and they might just get it too.

They will not be disappointed that he takes action, but they may not like the actions he takes. One of them won't be a gun ban. Ain't happening. Won't work.

Oh they'll get action alright. The issue damnds attention. But folks encouraging their activism are misleading them to think a gun ban will be the end result of their activism. Wrong.

Got to find that “leftist” boogie man in every situation I guess.

Where did I mention anything about "Leftists" in that post? I said the folks who are encouraging them. Are they Leftists, I don't know? I do know some of them are calling for a gun ban and I'm just saying suggesting that to those kids or that those kids can make that happen is misleading them. I suppose anything is possible but if guns are banned from law abiding citizens then only the criminals will have them! They don't obey the Law and won't turn in their guns. They certainly don't where guns are already banned do they?

Oh you mean “tried and true” like distorting Gods word in order to form different sects, burning people at the stake, enslaving generations of people for looking different, wars, crusades, people being drawn and quartered in the public sphere.....that kind of “tried and true”?

Please tell me you don't teach history, civics or science. PE or woodshop seem to be more your speed.

Your inability to think logically and comprehend is pretty sad considering your age. I tagged dvl because he is one of the posters who made you look stupid in that thread and now you are trying to claim he was wrong. Hell, I browsed through it again and @TarHeelEer & @Mntneer also spanked your ass.

I like you 007...always stirrin' up trouble...instigating scrums! That "poll on country's racism/dual race was a classic. Love it![thumb2]

I don't see any signs blaming trump for the shooting. quit creating a false narrative

Christians only get blamed or marked by the Left for the Evil in Man Brushy, not the good they do. You know that! The resuce missions to disaster areas after terrible natural calamities? The rescue operations of the Sudansese people who are being slaughtered in the thousands by Muslims? The feeding operations to poor African nations? The Freedom riders in this country who helped Blacks escape slavery in the South? The resuce operations of thousands of innocent Babies who were headed for Abortion mills? The soup kitchens and relief organizations like the Salvation Army that help people all over America? All led by Christians, all without a peep of thanks from the Left.

Play dumb. Maybe the kids think for themselves? Nah, it probably those _____ that are coaching and leading those kids, right?

Maybe kids just want guns banned. So what

If the kids really want a gun ban I say let them go for it! It's a free country though and they will soon encounter stiff oppostion to their idealism. But I'm for encouraging them to try and make it happen fully aware of the ultimate failure they will most likely experience. Americans love two things not mutually exclusive from each other. Their Freedom, and their guns to keep it.

Oh no doubt, no doubt. But it's only the Left that criticizes what they don't like about most Christians. The Left curiously never criticizes Socialists or Athiests. Lots of them too.

Why not?

Idealism isn’t a horrible thing, disappointment is a part of life.

Can you tell me what there is to criticize about atheism?

And why would we just force socialists into this assessment. Christians- atheists- socialists? Only to you are those three labels connected in the way we are discussing.

True dat. I am not one to encourage failure though. I encourage my kids for their ultimate success. However, it is a Free country so the kids can at least try to force a gun ban... hey go for it! Everyone gets to vote, they won't be disappointed in their effort but they may be with their results.

Before you interjected in your glory bound defense of Christians. Brushy made a comment that division was handled in a “tried and true” manner that conservatives cherish and liberals seek to end, in the “post-Christian” world. And that now there is no real connection to bridge our division except violence or split. I think he seriously underestimates the amount of conflict in his “Christian” society, as opposed to the “post-Christian” society. So I listed some of the conflicts and issues in what I assumed his “Christian” world was.

It wasn’t an attack on Christianity.

Bullshit, you tried to play "gotcha" and I declined to take the bait.

OK I'll try to keep it short....

In shorthand I'd say it's illogical (Atheism) and not historical. Why? Because as much as it's a book of Faith the Bible is also 100% historically reliable. To suggest otherwise is to deny history itself! It's illogical because mere observations of the design intracacy in creation lead one to logically conclude a "designer". Much like any fine piece of art or any other maticulously crafted work that is unique and a stand alone representation of its creator.

So I'd say simple logic dictates criticism of atheism. Faith is probaly better to criticize because it cannot be as easily or logically examined or historically measured, but that's why we have the Bible and its stories to support Faith's claims.

The congolomeration of them (Socialism/Atheism) is to merely recognize the obvious. Not all Christians are Socialist although some probably are. However all atheists are certainly not Christian and certainly a vast majority of Socialists are indeed Atheist.

So it's just a recognition of what is the constitution of the desparate groups. Furthermore, Atheistic Leftsits typically only criticize Christians or Christianity yet ironically they believe in neither.

They do not on the other hand often criticize or recognize the fallacies or even the documented historical failure of Socialism throughout it's brief world history. So the real irony is they continue to idolize or advocate for Socialism against that historical record of its failure for roughly 100 years, while they refuse to recognize the Bible's 100% historical record of accuracy spanning centuries!

Explain that to me because it is very perplexing.

OK, point of fact I wasn't suggesting you were criticizing his post...I was responding to how the Left typically handles their evaluations of Christianty similar to how you only pointed out its bad historical record vs the other side of Christianity that has done more good than harm.

Ok here is where we differ drastically, How can anyone prove that the Old Testament is 100% historically reliable or accurate?
