Well this aged well

"Last year’s 6-4 record showed progress, especially after the school and defensive coordinator Vic Koenning parted ways just weeks before preseason camp, the result of a disgruntled player’s allegation that could’ve divided some locker rooms."

WVU turned the transfer portal into

"The anticipation is that Brown will do for West Virginia what Matt Campbell has done for Iowa State — which means playing for the Big 12 crown in Arlington, Texas, within two to three years."

LOL. Stop it...Imma gonna pee.

Vic was the biggest single reason for Brown's success at Troy. After he was fired at WVU, there was nowhere to go but down. Vic had the defense playing way better football in his first year. It didnt take 4 years of getting "his recruits" to do it. He just coached the kids he had up and made them better, like good coaches do. The defense was on the rise until they "woke fired" Vic, and now it has gone nothing but downhill. The offense on the other hand (Neal's specialty), has been a struggle since day 1 and has shown little to no improvement. In fact it has been flat out embarrassing at times. Neal isnt a good coach. Shane was an even worse AD.

It took Campbell 5 years to make Big 12 title. And then he went 1-8 in Big 12 this year. He is 11-14 (6-12) in the last 2 seasons. You go Matt Campbell.

Actually no it wasn't Vic. It was Jon Sumrall the first year HC at Troy who went 11-2 (8-1) winning the Sun Belt. He was with Neal every place he has been except here.

Neal is a good G5 or FCS coach. He hasn't proven he can coach in P5 level.

Matt Campbell is a vastly superior coach but his recruiting never really matched those great few years he had. QB play really is everything now. When Purdy fell off and now this year you can see that.

Without knowing Vic at all, I would love to have seen the atrocities he committed at WVU firsthand. Hopefully that cream puff Martin has finally recovered. Thoughts and prayers Kerry. Thoughts and prayers.

Mat Campbell has not been as good as many of you claim. He has been there 7 years. Is 46-42 overall and 32-31 in conference. He's had 1 good season. Take away his 9-3 year and he sucks even worse. Is he better than Brown? Who isn't. Campbell will probably be the next HC at Purdue.
