Pens -- NOV 2019

Well, it's the Big Bad B's tonight......and if the Pens didn't play the League's best player thus far this season on Saturday (Leon Draisaitl), they'll play him tonight in Dave Pastrnak.

They're presumably going to need another excellent performance from MM to stay in this one, because nobody is scoring off Rask these days (though it'd sure be nice if the B's finally had an off night in goal)......and that's even more true if they continue their current 0 for 19 PP drought. Hate to say this, but why is it can I see Geno committing one of his dumbass stick fouls in the first 10 minutes tonight.....hope I"m wrong about that.

With the NYI coming up on Thursday, we'll know a fair amount more about the basic competitiveness of this team (as a presumed Cup contender) by the time we approach the weekend and Saturday's home game versus the Black Hawks (who the Pens haven't proven for a pretty long time they can beat either).

Speaking of the Hawks game, don't forget it'll be welcome-back night for Olli Maatta (who, from what little I've heard, hasn't done anymore for the Hawks than Kahun has done for the Guins).

lots of division games coming up for the pens in the next couple weeks. important games for sure.

No doubt; almost all Western Conference thus far. This month, they play the NYI three times in 15 days......the Devils twice.....and at Columbus.

Speaking of the schedule.....in February.....they play at Washington twice, home and away vs both Tampa and Toronto, and the three California teams in 4 nights. Then in March, they have the Craps, Devils and Rangers twice each, and their entire 4 game season series vs Carolina in 21 days.

I realize the schedules are always biased toward divisional games late in the season; but all 4 games versus the Canes in less than one month ??

Just read that Dumoulin might not be available tonight, as he continues to attend to his wife and new child.

I like the division games down the stretch. makes the stakes just a bit higher.

Ok guys...I just tuned in. What the hell happened? I have no shot clock on this broadcast (I guess the B's network could care less like Fox) yet again, so there goes that measuring stick....

first one was a bad angle goal. off a letang turnover.

was arguing with the wife during the second.

Well I walked away and came back to 3-1 with #30 extracted from the cage likely a wise idea...seeing as that goal on the replay was...well....quite freakin ugly. The one on our side seems a lift after the change...

Bergeron flipped the puck to the front of the net, and the Rat batted it out of the air past Murray. Third one was a Pastrnak shot from the top of the left circle that Errey claimed was through a screen......but was not.

Meanwhile, give the Guins credit for a dominating 2nd thus far......and if Tricky Nicky is scoring, for crying out loud, that's GOT to be a good sign.

Errey excused that one??? Well that's a bit of homerism isn't it! Wtf? It was a terrible goal....the hook was needed.

I flicked on B's jackasses Edwards and Brickley because I wanted to hear their late period assessment. Other than Brickley's moaning when Letang (sort of) leg whipped McAvoy up the slot and didn't get called, they were talking domination, getting hit by a truck, etc.

Edwards said, since Oct 2011, the B's have had a 3 goal lead 198 times......and have a record of 194-1-3. Meanwhile, let's hope Jarry is ready for the B's in this 3rd period. Probably the best period the Pens have played against the Bruins since the 1991 Kevin Stevens playoff.

Unfortunately, the B's largely leveled the ice in the 3rd......and worse, we didn't get the good 3rd period we needed from Jarry. Just a dirty shame to waste a period like that 2nd.
