Time will tell how the season actually plays out.

Lots of wins still on the table. Pitt game will be the usual battle and OK looks to be reloaded. The rest look like ducks on the pond ready to be taken. The next few games will tell who our QB is remainder of the season. If Nicco gets an opportunity he needs to grab it and run with it. Not sold in Greene as our starter. The team needs a stable leader with all the skills required for that position to be successful.

Not looking forward to syphering through all the daily bullshit noise in hopes of finding a reasonable response.

Play calling!

I know everybody, including myself is disappointed right now, but someone please explain this to me. 4th down and short, you bring in your back up quarterback who hasn’t been in the game at all to make the first down. I mean Donaldson and Green both have been running pretty well. Someone educate me on that play call because I just don’t understand.

WVU Release Liberty Defeats West Virginia on Sunday

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (Sept. 3, 2023) – The West Virginia University women’s soccer team dropped its final nonconference road match of the season, falling 3-1 to Liberty in Lynchburg, Virginia, on Sunday afternoon.

West Virginia (2-4) took an early lead in the first half, but Liberty tallied three second-half goals to take the upset victory over the Mountaineers.

Senior midfielder Chloe Adler put the Mountaineers on the board in the 16th minute with a swift kick just in front of the goal. Sophomore forward Taylor White placed the ball in the perfect spot for Adler to give WVU the advantage early in the first half.

The second half opened with West Virginia still holding on to the lead, but Liberty drew one back with a penalty goal in the 72nd minute. From there, both teams fought for the go-ahead goal, but it was the Flames who found the go-ahead, as well as an insurance tally in the 87th minute to secure the win.

Liberty outshot West Virginia, 12-7, including 8-2 in shots on goal and 6-1 in corner kicks. Fifth-year senior goalkeeper Kayza Massey notched five saves on the afternoon. Junior forward Dilary Heredia-Beltran paced the team with two shots, while Adler scored the goal and White tallied the assist.

With the loss, WVU is now 0-1 all-time against Liberty, as the two teams met on the pitch for the first time in program history on Sunday. The Flames became the Mountaineers’ 119th different opponent, as WVU is now 6-2-2 against first-time opponents over the last six seasons.

West Virginia now returns to Morgantown to host Auburn on Thursday, Sept. 7. It’s Fan Appreciation Night, and kickoff at Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium in Morgantown is set for 7 p.m. ET.

OT: Follow and fellow Mountaineer’s cross-country travels

Well the game was hard to watch last night. There is no ignoring it. However, I am hoping for better results as the season goes on. I plan to watch more games as I travel around the country full time with fellow mountaineers!

If you’re on Instagram and so inclined, please follow my travels @happiness.adjacent. I’ll only make 1 WVU game this year (Pitt) but plan to see the Bball team when I head West in January.

The name of the account just refers to the pursuit of happiness and how to keep it in my sights.

Anyway .. Go Mountaineers! Montani Semper Liberi!

Former prominent WVU football player

If he’s want to give his name to this publicly it’s up to him. But, he said the team played hard and while there was an obvious talent disparity between us and them, he thought the real difference in the game was coaching, especially the OC. He said NB is a good coach, but he’s not a P5 coach. This level is too much for him and definitely too much with him as HC and OC.
