WVSPORTS.COM WVU basketball coaching search

With the start of 2024, the behind the scenes chats with potential coaches will begin to heat up. Here’s a list of names I think could be involved. Feel free to add to WVU’s little black book.

—Josh Eilert—current WVU interim head coach
—Andy Kennedy—UAB (Vernon said isn’t going to happen)
—Dusty May—FAU
—Pat Kelsey—College of Charleston
—Bob Richey—Furman
—Andy Enfield—USC
—Niko Medved—Colorado State
—Anthony Grant—Dayton
—Mark Byington—James Madison
—Ben McCollum—NW Missouri State
—Steve Forbes—Wake Forest

I’m sure there will be some bigger names mentioned. I think this is going to be a good year to be hiring because there won’t be many big time jobs opening up

Oklahoma State's Ollie Gordon arrested

Oklahoma State star running back Ollie Gordon II is out of jail after being arrested Sunday morning on suspicion of DUI.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol says Gordon was pulled over on Interstate 35 south of Oklahoma City after a trooper says Gordon was going 82 in a 65 and swerving through traffic.

A probable cause affidavit says the trooper who pulled Gordon over spotted a half-full bottle of vodka and half-full bottle of tequila.

A Potential 2028 WVU Football Schedule…

Tennessee (Charlotte)
@ NC State

Virginia Tech
@ Louisville

August 15th is the date for FSU to get the ball rolling so they may make themselves available to move out of the ACC in time for the 2025 season. And the belief is that they are indeed readying for the departure.

Then all hell will break loose and all of those fans who have bitched for years about the Big 12 will get to have several old rivals dotting the schedule.

"When the quarterbacks chatted about who flashed during the event, one name that continued to come up with Greene. And for good reason. The West Virginia starter had a nice throwing session, working the intermediate and deep game well relative to the 40-plus quarterbacks who competed in the event. Green made his case for one of the best Big 12 quarterbacks at the event, and with some nice throws from Baylor’s Dequann Finn, Iowa State’s Rocco Becht and Houston’s Donovan Smith, the new-look Big 12 was well-represented at the Manning Passing Academy."
