Neal's success against TCU...

Some reason for optimism going into Saturday...

- Coach Brown is now 3-1 vs. TCU in his four years.

- Coach Brown is 2-0 vs. TCU in Ft. Worth.

- WVU RUSHING vs. TCU:
> 2019: 27 carries, 86 yards (3.2 ypc). OK, that's bad, but we won.
> 2020: 37 carries, 180 yards (4.9 ypc). Leddie Brown had 163 yards on 24 carries (6.5 ypc)
> 2021: 41 carries, 229 yards (5.6 ypc). Leddie had 112 yards on 24 carries, 3 TD (4.6 ypc)
> 2022: 40 carries, 155 yards (3.9 ypc). CJ Donaldson had 104 yards on 19 carries, 2 TD (5.5 ypc)

- WVU TOTAL OFFENSE vs. TCU:
> 2019: 62 plays, 244 yards, 3.9 ypp, 20 points vs. TCU with 71 plays, 297 yards, 4.2 ypp, 17 points
> 2020: 63 plays, 392 yards, 6.2 ypp, 24 points vs. TCU with 63 plays, 295 yards, 4.7 ypp, 6 points
> 2021: 70 plays, 487 yards, 7.0 ypp, 29 points vs. TCU with 60 plays, 393 yards, 6.6 ypp, 17 points
> 2022: 79 plays, 430 yards, 5.4 ypp, 31 points vs. TCU with 55 plays, 494 yards, 9.0 ypp, 41 points

============================================================================================

Our Defense is clearly better in 2023, and seems to be gaining steam with each game. Our offense has clearly taken a step back from last year. However, we had a ton of success vs. TCU last season, and CJ Donaldson had a hell of a day.

Their personnel aren't any better than our personnel. It's going to be a pure X's and O's matchup - which I know makes some of you gag a bit. However, for me, it's simple - hit a couple big throws down the field and if the defense keeps up what it is doing, then we're going to be right there at the end and may get to 4-1.

Sirius XM's show around 3:30pm yesterday with Jacob Hester and Chris Doering had Chris Plank on, and he was talking us up as one of the best stories of the season that no one is talking about. When we get to 4-1, then all of the sudden we'll be back on the radar screen...which would be a welcome change.

OT: Ever taken part in this ?

KINGWOOD, W.Va. — The tradition continues in downtown Kingwood Wednesday with the opening of the 81st Preston County Buckwheat Festival.

Festival General Chairman Harry Hayes said more than 10,000 buckwheat pancake and sausage dinners are prepared each year for the community with the proceeds benefiting firefighters. The Kingwood Fire Department meals are $12 for adults and $7 for kids from 3 to 12 years old.

“The buckwheat cakes and sausages are at our community building,” Hayes said. “Those are all-you-can-eat buckwheat cakes; you pay for the dinner, and you can eat as many buckwheat cakes as you want, and it comes with sausage as well.”

CRT/NIL

I was reading on the Clemson board today and they had a thread on their NIL. Suicide watch over there about Dabo and not wanting to bring in portal guys or paying for players. Anyhow, they seemed to be ecstatic with the thought they had 8-10 million in their NIL/Trust and thought that was more than enough to be within the top 10 in the country for most available NIL money available. I’m too lazy to look through all the threads, but doesn’t that seem low? Does anyone know what we have available?

Not Surprising

Anyone viewing TV and media advertising could figure this out:

September 26, 2023
Only 6 percent of new S&P 100 jobs went to white applicants in the year after George Floyd’s death, according to an analysis by Bloomberg News.
The analysis, based on data reported to the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, shows that S&P 100 companies added 323,094 new jobs between 2020 and 2021. Of that total, 302,570 of them—94 percent of the total increase—went to "people of color," defined as blacks, Asians, and Hispanics, the analysis found. Together, those groups make up just 40 percent of the U.S population.

SHEEEEESH!!!! I go into surgery and

it sounds like the ACC is about to explode when I come out. I am foggy so not sure any of this is true. ALSO, thanks for all the good wishes. I am in pain at the incision but the nerve pain is already showing improvement. It will be slow recovery so I will be here but just not able to "kick" for quite a while. Told you that it was your lucky day. :joy: :letsgo:

Discussion with a Pitt grad

Earlier today I played golf with a Pitt grad. I casually asked him what "his team was going to do about their quarterback". He responded with, "Do you mean the Steelers? There's nothing wrong with Kenny Pickett." When I mentioned that I meant "his Panthers", he casually said he stopped following them after his graduation from the Pitt Engineering School in 1961. A good illustration why Pitt has trouble filling their football stadium when not playing PSU, ND, or WVU.
