We used annually to play for a trophy in Eastern football with Pitt and PSU. The winner of the "series" among the 3 would win the Old Ironsides Trophy. Syracuse was also on the periphery of this when Gentle Ben Schwatzwalder was their coach.

It died when PSU left the eastern indies.

However right now among PSU, Pitt and Syracuse they have a combined 1 loss. My how we have fallen off since HCNB came to Morgantown.

Scheduling teams like Penn State and Alabama at the beginning of the season is crazy. We have a hard enough Big 12 schedule without scheduling nonconference nationally ranked teams.

I honestly felt we had a very good chance of winning last night. Much better chance than against KSU. After last night it’s time to cut losses and fire NB. I get the buyout. Let the attorneys work out details and logistics. We have more talent than ISU. They’re just much better coached team. It was glaringly obvious last night. WV needs a coach just like Campbell. Someone that can come in and develop and get the most from its players. NB just isn’t the right coach for this team. He never will be. We think it’s bad now. Wait until next year when we have a new QB, both lines are getting turned over. If NB can’t win with his “most talented team” what happens next year? Do we really trust him with a rebuild??? I worry that we’re going to get portaled to the point where we’re losing the playmakers we do have.

Did ISU make Neal limit Green’s running ability? It’s what makes him different. His drop back passing does not. Is Gallagher not the quick twitch player he was supposed to be? If he is, can brown design some plays for him? Is Farmer quick twitch? If he is, and even if he can’t block nor run good routes yet, at least design a play or two to give him a chance to break one. Seems like a line returning several starters with the running ability of Green, White, and Donaldson should run the crap out of the ball.
