Not defending that stupid field trip, but I don't see this as a problem BECAUSE the parents would have had to sign a permission slip allowing their children to go there. So, if the parents knew where they were going, then that's no different than us saying that parents should be allowed to choose how to raise their kids (masks vs unmasked, vaccine vs unvaccinated).

Parents need to be at every school board meeting, at least one of the parents.
I still see it as a problem. A field trip to a bar that serves alcohol? The school and the parents should be in trouble. Not only does the place serve aclohol, did you see the vulgar menu?

Meh, we stopped at Chi-Chi’s for lunch on one of my grade school field trips. They served alcohol and shit food. It’s irrelevant to me if it’s commonly frequented by gays or a gay owner, etc. I don’t have a problem with the gays and am a big advocate for them. We’ve really fvcked them over as a nation for a very long time on common sense type things like medical insurance for spouses and death benefits.
This one doesn’t really move the needle for me.
Why do the folks so eagerly "promoting" that lifestyle choice only offer little tykes what they think are the "fun" or "cool" things about it?
If we're going to be truthful about all aspects of it, why don't we tell the little crumb crunchers about the outrageous physical abuse, mental depression, fatal and often unhealthy consequences of their promiscuity, suicides, and all of the debased perverse behaviors typical of the most unrestrained of those who practice the "gay" lifestyle or call themselves "gay"?

Our children, especially that young, do not need exposed to the bar scene, adult sexual references, politics or adult sexual scenes by our schools.
Those are up to parents.

But if other parents didn't mind, then why should you/me/others? I thought we have said on here several times that the schools should leave masks up to the parents?
Why is it an option in our educational system? To your point, I agree. Parents need held responsible too. Were parents informed of the details of this field trip? The article doesn't say.
Nevertheless, it doesn't belong in our educational system. What if schools (and some do) are okay with porn, including child porn, being taught? Most parents are against it, but there are plenty who are cool with it.
This shouldn't even be a debate. Children being exposed to this in our schools serves no purpose. We pay for this $h!t. Because some parents are okay with it and sign off on it, doesn't make it right.

Taking our kids to bars, let alone gay bars, is not okay. What's next? Strip bars? It's stupid and does nothing to educate our children. Being a parent is a responsibility.
We shouldn't be handing certain responsibilities over to government. Going to bars, regardless of what type, is not something schools should be part of. Period.
I'm not arguing in favor of the act. I've said I wouldn't have allowed it, but it's the point of trying to parent others kids. If those parents are cool with it, and nobody complained, then it's a non-issue in my book.
You are right, the complete story is unwritten. Did the parents know where they were going? That will determine how far this story should go in my books.
EDIT: And as for "bars", what's the definition should we use? My daughter stopped in a Cheddar's on a school trip. They sold alcohol. People were drinking. They had a bar for people to sit and drink. Is that allowed?
Bars...Alcohol....Absolutely ridiculous for a school to have this as part of our children's education, regardless of the situation. Plenty of other options.

No, but I teach them that being gay is fine. We have family members who are and close friends of the family. No one really celebrates it around the kids. It’s just who they are. No one makes a big deal about it, because it’s not.
I didn't teach my kid that being gay is fine, because I believe in my Lord and savior and God's word. But I did teach him not to judge, nor hate anyone, including homosexuals. We are all God's people and he loves us all equally, therefore each of us should do the same. I taught him we are no better than anyone else.
