That calendar isn't hard to read. Congress has only so many days to consider its business. That's why they have a docket. Impeachment ain't on it! But since when did Democrats care about due process?
Dave use simple logic here. Don't you think if Democrats had a solid case to convict Trump he'd already be impeached? Don't you think if they had more than 218 votes, a vote to impeach him would be immediately forthcoming?

They can't hold a vote now, or even announce how many are ready to vote to impeach because they haven't convinced enough members yet to pass that vote because they don't have a strong enough case.

Actually, what it sounds like, to rational people of course, is a disagreement between the executive and the legislative. And in such a disagreement, the third branch of government decides the determination. It needs to be decided in the courts. They will decide if he’s allowed to assert privilege.
I'm saying it's those defections who Dems don't have with them yet. Trust me, if the votes were there, Nancy would have scheduled it for the floor already. She doesn't have the votes, and to announce that now (not enough votes) kills the whole arm twisting effort going on as we speak.
It's a race against time, because they only have a couple of weeks to get this done. However as the article I linked to earlier in the thread points out, they are having trouble with members from swing districts who are hearing from constituents to back off or else.
