Pens March.

Carl Hagelin got his first goal as a Crap a few minutes ago.

If there was a thumbs down button I’d use it. Ugh. I guess in the long run if Gundbranson gives us solid play the Hags for Pearson deal was a wash. Seems though Hags always came up big in the post season.

What is that......his 2nd or 3rd of the year ?? Speaking of Hags, did you read/hear the story that the Pens evidently tried to reacquire him at the deadline, but (apparently unexpectedly) found out that wasn't kosher under the terms of the current CBA ?? :weary:

I did not see that. Of course, I am not quite as attuned to what is going on as the rest of you gents. I am hoping Rangers can erase this 2-1 deficit to beat Washington. I cannot stand those guys! As I typed this NY tied it up! Go Rangers!

Sure looked to ME like Georgiev threw his stick at 8......

I cannot disagree with that.

I gotta admit, that was pretty funny; if I'm not mistaken......and I may be, because I watched only a fraction of the telecast....none of broadcast team (Doc, Edzo, or Pierre) left open even the remotest possibility that Georgiev might simply have lost handle of his twig when he lunged at the puck.

That's particularly true (and surprising) for Doc, who otherwise never takes sides (and really shouldn't, as the P-b-P guy).

Actually, I myself thought this was a much better effort than I expected......the fact of the matter is they've not been reliable at producing consecutive good efforts. Of course, they were fortunate to catch Price off his game (at least early).

And beyond my broken record complaints of MM......including what I considered to be his lousy GA last night......he obviously shook it off and played damned solid the rest of the way. Would love to see him use last night.....and don't forget he played the highly unusual back-to-backer this weekend......as a jump start to another hot streak (at least until his next injury inevitably pops up).

Assuming the Pens make the playoffs, I just can't see them winning a cup with inconsistent play from the keepers. While the OT losses give the Pens 6 pts in the last 4 games, the two lost points at Philly and Buffalo are huge right now.

Thankfully the jackets seem to be in a near free fall. The Pens could put them out of their misery if they can win both ends of the home and home.

I don't see them getting into the playoffs if they continue to play show off hockey and not value puck possession. when they are putting the puck in deep this team is hard to beat. when they consistently turn it over at the opponents blue line because they are too lazy and soft to go work for it or put it in the glass on shot attempts they are giving the other team an easy odd man rush.

murray and desmith haven't been awful. murray has good numbers since december but still is struggling with giving up softees. .

DK reporting Letang and Maatta both skated this morning before practice, and Dumo evidently practiced but in a non-contact jersey. Guess that means things are on the slow improve fpr this group, but it also sounds like it'll still be a number of games before any of them will be back.

Sid at least seems to be working the puck down low...where he is most effective. Horny is his usual scrappy self but needs to find the twine on a more consistent basis. The two new ex Panthers have been a fairly pleasant surprise imo...but ya the rest of this team is gonna have to work harder along the boards to have ANY success down the road. I've been harping consistent on PK over the last few weeks but did have a look at his overall season point stats and truthfully they are not bad (assists especially)...however this also indicates his scoreless streak in Feb /March is absolutely abysmal and that needs to change...hoping MM OR Casey puts together a bit of a streak here down the stretch. Imo they've been adequate but need to improve to have meaningful success...

My bud, a Leafer (yuk) , is flying down for tonight's game vs Fla with his young son a Pens Fan aptly named Crosby...it'll be his first game live in The Burgh. I was invited to attend with em but decided to decline as you guys know all about my record at PPG over the years lol. Look for his sign along the glass tonight.
Oh I also supplied my pal a loaner jersey after some protest, as he didn't want to shell out for one. I am hopeful for a big performance outta the lads tonight, and maybe he'll decide to break the bank after all...
Let's Go Pens!

The canes are up 2 to 0 vs the bruins. jackets up 1 over the debils.

Will somebody explain the icing call to me? The 2nd to last icing with 1:40 left was blown several feet before the puck crossed the redline. I thought the puck had to cross the goal line prior to the whistle.....
