The West Virginia University baseball team returns to Kendrick Family Ballpark for a three-game series against Ohio State from March 15-17, the final non-conference series of the season for the Mountaineers.

The Mountaineers are 10-7 on the season and are coming off an 11-2 victory over in-state rival Marshall in Charleston on Tuesday. Senior Reed Chumley went 4-for-4 with a home run and four RBI while junior University of Charleston transfer Kyle West hit his second home run of the season.

Six WVU relievers combined to throw 7.0 scoreless innings while striking out 13 and allowing just four baserunners. The Mountaineer bullpen has been stellar as of late, allowing just three earned runs in the last 38.0 innings pitched.

Junior Aidan Major will look to continue his strong start to the season on the mound as he is currently 3-0 with a 3.12 ERA. He is also second in the Big 12 with 29 strikeouts.

Sophomore Sam White leads the Mountaineers with a .323 batting average while junior Grant Hussey has a team-high four home runs. White and sophomore Benjamin Lumsden both have 14 RBI to pace the squad.

Led by Head Coach Bill Mosiello in his second season, the Buckeyes are 8-7 in 2024 and are coming off a California road trip in which they went 2-3 against Cal Poly and Cal State Fullerton. OSU has played their entire season so far on the west coast with games in Arizona, California, and Las Vegas

Mitchell Okuley leads Ohio State with a .375 batting average and 14 RBI while four players each have a team-high two home runs.

Pitchers Landon Beidelschies and Gavin Bruni were each named Big Ten players to watch and have ERAs of 3.43 and 3.71, respectively, in four starts. Justin Eckhardt has a 2.84 ERA in the bullpen with a team-best three saves.
