MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (March 17, 2024) The West Virginia University baseball team dropped the series finale to Ohio State, 26-11, Sunday afternoon at Kendrick Family Ballpark. The Mountaineers fall to 11-9 while the Buckeyes improve to 10-8.

Ohio State jumped on WVU pitching with two runs in the first and five in the third before exploding for eight, four and seven runs in the sixth, seventh and eighth innings, respectively.

The highlight of the day for the Mountaineers came in the ninth when Morgantown native freshman Aaron Jamison hit a grand slam, the first home run of his career. Junior Grant Hussey and senior Reed Chumley each had two hits while freshmen Michael Perazza and Spencer Barnett had three RBI.

In an otherwise forgetful day for the WVU pitching staff, redshirt sophomore Tommy Beam and sophomore Carson Estridge each threw a scoreless inning.

The Mountaineers will be back at Kendrick Family Ballpark on Wednesday, March 20 to take on Marshall. First pitch against the Thundering Herd is set for 6:30 p.m.
