However, when it comes to basketball:
Morehead State lost to Kentucky, which is having a terrible year, 81-45 (by THIRTY SIX points).
Lost to Ohio State, 77-44 (by THIRTY THREE points).
Lost to Clemson, 66-51 (by FOURTEEN points).
Lost to BELMONT, 76-58 (Belmont! By EIGHTEEN points). Later beat Belmont, 86-71 in their conferencde tournament).
Morehead didn’t even PLAY a Top 25 team. WVU had 14 games against Top 25 teams and got out-scored by 10 points (less than 1 point per game).
It sounds like the setting of a porn movie. Is their coach named Buck Naked? Is their Chancellor named Ivana Humpalot?

I would be surprised if Syracuse can beat San Diego State. That's a pretty good team, an most of last year's team is returning, and that team was highly ranked last year. Think they lost their leading scorer from last year's team. Decent size, with a guy that can knock down 15 foot jump shots in the middle of the zone. I think if I were WVU, I would rather play Syracuse than San Diego State in the 2nd round. Of course, if you're having a bad shooting night, then playing Syracuse's zone can make for a long night.

Score Comparisons. Love it. Pretty sure people were writing off WVU in December on this board. So I guess December only counts for some people.
Conference rankings are their for a reason. I don't know what SFA conference was ranked that year but this season the OVC is 23rd out of 32 conferences and the Big 12 is 2nd overall. I realize it only takes 1 bad game to lose to anyone.
Now with your same December theory I guess Gonzaga is really not good enough to be #1 as they play their toughest portion of the schedule in December.

I didn’t compare scores. I compared wins/losses. I guess a team can’t gel and come together between December and March. Watch this game be closer than you’d like.
All of WVU games have been closer than I like. Only 3 teams WVU had comfortable wins against. KSU, Kansas and Richmond Everything else was under 10 I believe.

Ohio State didn't play many OOC games or lose an OOC game, so your argument is weak. Oral Roberts played its Big 12 opponents, especially Oklahoma State, much tougher than Morehead State played Ohio State and Kentucky, so ORU is a better pick for an upset than Morehead State is at this point, but Lunardi has walked out on a flimsy limb.

What would you like to know? Morehead State ended the season on a 19-1 run, but was embarrassed in early season action against Power 5 competition. The Eagles' best player is 6'10" Broom, but he's only a freshman, so expect Culver to eat his lunch. Morehead State plays a slow and deliberate style, but still turns the ball over often. Anything other than a WVU blowout would be a surprise.

With their entire team, Michigan would roll into the final four. Without Livers, it will take a miracle for them to get past the likes of LSU, FSU, Texas/Alabama. I think the round of 32 may be the end, if not certainly the round of 16.
I'm liking Zaga, Baylor, Illinois, and Texas to reach the final four. But, shit tends to happen, so it's possible none of them reach it. One bad game, and you go home.
