So, we arrived in Aruba yesterday, and I made damn sure to wear my WVU hat the whole way here. This is voice to text before we walk into the casino, so my apologies in advance for the grammatical errors…
As soon as we get out of the airport, and are crossing the street, a guy hollers at me and says, hey, West Virginia. I said, yes, sir, where are you from? He said Charleston, how about you? I said Hurricane.
Today we’re out on the beach, and again I’m wearing my hat in the ocean. A group of about 10 or so people looks over, and one gal says hey, what part of West Virginia you’re from? I said Hurricane, how about you? Turns out that not only are there from West Virginia, they know a handful of my family and went to school with some of em.
Fast forward to this evening, and we’re eating at a restaurant. A guy stopped me and says, hey, where are you from in West Virginia? I said, hurricane. He said I played football at the West Virginia state in institute. I said, me too. He said, when did you play? I said I was there starting in 89, 90. He said, I played there in 87.
We’re down here in frickin’ Aruba for one day, and have already seen a shit ton of people from WV? Crazy man.
For those of you that haven’t been down here, it’s really nice!
