Coaching Situation

If I’m Wren Baker at the end of the regular season. I sit down with Neal and say we both want to move on from this. I’ll give you a one time payment of 5 million to part ways. Sure Neal is owed more, but I think he wants out of Morgantown. If he took the full buyout it would be paid over so many years. (Correct me if I’m wrong) and would also be cut into if he would take another job. I just feel like that’s a fair offer on both ends. But I also don’t know anything. Or how either side feels

OT Sorta --- HS "transfer portal" and how one coach took his team to another county

Don't know how may of you have followed this. Freedom Woodbridge in Prince William Co won the last two Virginia class 6A titles (highest in Virginia) with a Coach who was accused of using of false addresses etc in Prince William Co to collect a team of kids from a three county area (Prince William, Stafford, Spotsylvania)..... After two titles at Freedom -- he left for Hayfield HS in Fairfax Co Va.... and somehow most of his kids went with him..... In the summer Fairfax Co Schools (at the request of the other coaches in the county) asked for an investigation..... a very progressive Superintendent cleared the Coach of any wrongdoing (note the Coach is very active politically and has been awarded several Virginia Human Rights Commission and Civil Rights Commission awards).... however the Virginia High School League (akin to the SSAC in WV) continued to investigate and has now banned Hayfield from the playoffs for the next 2 seasons..... Already we have cries in some media about infringements on civil rights etc by VHSL.....

Meanwhile Freedom Woodbridge -- the school he left -- is 0-6 this year and has NOT scored a single point in any of the 6 games (that's right --- shutout in all 6). This is College football's nonsense run amuck down to the HS level..... but the same claims about player movement and "their rights" are going to be used to justify it....
