A mistake you can no longer make

You're always going to miss on recruits but with NIL such a force now you can't make obvious mistakes like Rocco Becht. It's not that Rocco is all-world but he wanted to come to WVU, his parents are both grads who love WVU, and his dad is in WVU's HOF. I wasn't sure how good he could be and I covered him in person several times so I wasn't hard on WVU about it but then again I'm not paid millions to evaluate players. I'm not really being critical of Neal here as much as making the point that player evaluation will have to be excellent at WVU in the future. If you're not the team with the most NIL money you have to be the best at evaluations.

OT (this year) college football playoff observation

See what I did there? 😎
I admit I hadn’t payed much attention to the setup or format until recently, so forgive me for being late to the party, but this is nuts! Do you realize that at this point in the season that to get to the championship game a team is potentially going to have to play five (5) more games if they play in their league championship game and don’t get a bye-almost half a season? This is punishing physically and I know we gave up the ghost of “student athlete” a long time ago, but 5 more games-think about the ‘88 team, two major injuries and we were dead-even going to an 85 man roster may not help. These guys also don’t get bowl-type time to heal/recover, it’s every week.
I’m a contrarian and everybody is hyped about this new era, I’m just waiting to see how hyped the networks will be when they’re dealing with a title game where perhaps the Heisman winner is out with a foot injury or the odds on team has to play like the 49ers with a WR trying to quarterback the team in title game-makes for great television. Thank goodness these guys are getting paid, after 17 games there might not be enough left of a guy to draft or some of the NFL draft picks will need a redshirt year in the league to get healthy.
Get off my lawn! 🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️😎
