I don't know how many people are getting diplomas but I do know the curve is making the diplomas given useless. A diploma should be earned. By the feds having to pay for so many degrees it's now proven they are useless.... and if we look at our debt and deficit it's a fact that people running our government has been given a degree...

The Democrats are allowing millions to come across the border without any real background checks on top of the fact we can't afford to take care of them. Sorry I went of track ... should be no curve at all ya can do it or not . I don't get a curve on my welding test and I have to take one every 6 months if I don't pass I get fired.

Let me ask you this.......SHOULD every student be required to take upper level math classes in high school? When I went to school, you had a choice of what math classes to take depending on whether you were "college prep" or "general ed" category. This is where the US education system is screwed up. We shouldn't force kids, white or black, to take these geometry, trig, calculus, etc etc. courses and then take a state mandated assessment over them. It does them NO GOOD.
So then you are admitting to spreading false propaganda by saying that it was 6 out of 10 earlier? Since you now admit that you have seen numbers that say it was 80%?
I stand by the numbers I saw that were dated in this decade (not 2016).
No it's foolish to try and put people in those prep classes that in no way can pass them . It's also foolish to push people through who can't pass the basics. I know most who can't could but won't work for it . Also foolish to push people to college who cant pass it .

We both know if our generation was forced to take the required upper level math courses in high school that our graduation rates would be terrible.
I took hard classes. Not sure how old you are but in the 60’s and early 70’s we all took decently hard classes. If you’ve ever seen some of these men fill out a health history, you’d be astounded at how bad it is.
YOU did. I did. But our generation DID NOT. Basically at my high school (in WV), if you were College Prep you took the difficult math classes. If you took the General Ed route, you took "Math 1", "Math 2", "Math 3", and "Math 4". Basic addition/subtraction.

Requirements in the classroom. Not every student needs high level math. But all are required to take them now. That was a Republican administration.
EDIT: And you should really think about that statement. Appalachia has some of the lowest scores in the nation. Again, the curriculum is culturally biased. Since 2001.

According to this post, ALL students were found not proficient ti the studies listed. All students regardless of race were failing.... this leads me to believe our educators are the true failures.
