He isn't the first WVian to leave the state and won't be the last. I will miss him as he was one of my favorite players. Wish him well and hope he chooses a good program.

The only thing that he would have to do differently under Rich is block better and a lot more often. Rich rod demands that from his WRs. These guys probably want to stay in an air raid style system instead of being in a run heavy system. Good luck to him for sure. He is awesome

I am starting to think that at least some of these guys are entering the portal because they are soft. If you want to leave bc they fired a head coach who wasn’t getting the job done after he was given 6 years to win, maybe you’re part of the problem.
Exactly! It’s not like these guys are irreplaceable. We’re not talking about losing the core of our 2005-2007 team. This is a group of kids who weren’t winning. It’s probably best for those who don’t want to work hard to look for a new school. I wish them well.
I suppose that a lot of people unhappy with Brown are OK with most of his players entering the portal. Next year may be worse than Browns worst year. 2026 or 27 before a turnaround becomes real? I may be dead before WVU fields a good football team again, more likely than I really want to believe, actually.

WVU fanbase has been mostly despicable for two years. Why do the players want to represent and be treated in that manner? Go ahead and bad mouth me for being honest. Proves the point being made.

When a player leaves, so be it. "I ain't begging anyone" should be Rich Rod's mentality. If you want to play for WVU, then stay. If not, then hit the door. This team needs an attitude adjustment and edge about them. And after 6 years of Brown, it appears that most of his players don't have that and now understand what Rich Rod is about.
Agents are snakes in the grass. Always striking when turmoil arrives. They work without the player getting as high a bid as they can find then they tell player to enter the portal cause I got you such and such amount.

Player contracts. That will help.
1-year = X amount NIL
2-year = XX amount NIL
3-or-4-year = XXX amount NIL
Catch would be if they leave before their signed contract years is up, they pay back the NIL.
Would be nice. But it makes too much since for money hungry agents.
Read a story about Travis Hunter this morning. He got a huge NIL deal. Was worth like $5 million. He never saw a dime. Why? He gave it back to Colorado pool to pay other players on the team. That guy seems like an outstanding young man. Good grades. Never forgot where he came from. Helping out others.
