WVU Release WVU Women's Basketball - West Virginia No. 24 in AP Poll

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (Feb. 12, 2024) – The West Virginia University women’s basketball team dropped two spots to No. 24 in the Associated Press (AP) Poll, announced Monday.



The ranking is the fourth straight week and the seventh time this season WVU has appeared in the weekly poll. The Mountaineers are 20-3 on the season and sit at 9-3 in Big 12 conference play. West Virginia enters this week as the No. 22 team in the NET rankings.


WVU received 85 points this week to rank 24th in the poll and is one of five Big 12 conference teams featured in the latest rankings.



Texas (22-3, 9-3 Big 12) is No. 5 with 708 points while Kansas State (21-3, 10-2 Big 12) is just behind at No. 7 with 631 points. Baylor (18-5, 7-5 Big 12) is No. 21 with 172 points and Oklahoma (17-6, 11-1 Big 12) comes in at No. 23 with 135 points.

No. 1 South Carolina, No. 2 Ohio State, No. 3 Stanford, No. 4 Iowa, and No. 5 Texas made up this week's top five.

The West Virginia women’s basketball team returns to the court on Tuesday, Feb. 13, on the road against TCU inside Schollmaier Arena in Fort Worth, Texas. Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET.
