GAME THREAD WVU vs. Iowa State

Offense has gone MIA again for half the game starting from mid 2nd quarter. It'll be so frustrating if poor redzone play resulting in only 6 points, especially after getting that TO deep in ISU territory, and missing the FG at the end of the first half turns out to be the deciding factor against the Mountaineers.

Give up an interception to a defensive back who never looked at the ball.

So it's all up to our defense.

Who is confident?

Mr. Mediocre said he has it all under control.

Nice play call......had 3rd and 5......out of field goal range.....probably going for it on 4th down.....and instead of trying to get a few yards, we go deep.......PATHETIC.

So what will be the boneheaded play or call that loses the game?

You know there will be one.

For anyone who defends this offense, explain how we go from gaining 350+ yards in the first half and scoring 20 points to NOTHING in the 2nd half? Yeah, it's called "Lack of adjustments".......

Sills didn't exactly make a strong play on that ball. That's putting it lightly. Grier also could've put it out there further where only Sills had a shot at it.

Oh, we made an adjustment. It's called running the tailback into the middle of the line 20 times.

I believe we are going to be short of the line..........he went to a knee......

Shew......looks like 1st down.....

Great win, ........ you're a Windbag.

Ouch......if you think ISU is legit, then I'd hate to say what you are. We are a 7-5 team, with a great possibility of not winning another game the rest of the way.......so many holes on this team offensively.

With 2:50 remaining......Tuberville said "it's over, take a knee". Well, if he were coaching and did that, then there would have been about 20-25 seconds remaining for Iowa State........glad he's not making those decision for WVU anymore.

Huh? The point is that Iowa State hasn't allowed teams to score in the 2nd half all year. That's their strength.

The point is that you are wrong. In Big XII play they've been good, but given up 3-7 points in the 2nd half in 4 out of 6 conference games (KU and WVU put up goose eggs). They have not consistently shut out teams in the second half. They haven't allowed over 20 points in 5 out of 6 of those games (OU -31). They held an opponent scoreless for over 35 minutes of the game time in 2 out of 6 games (KU and WVU). ISU is defense has been good, but the supposed strength of this WVU team is the offense and getting blanked for over 35 minutes of game time is a knock against them.

Wvu just beat the #15 team in the country no matter how you slice it. Good win and holgs and crew gets a quality win against a ranked team, finally. I’ll take it anytime the D gives up only 16 pts.

I think at the end of the day, you're just disappointed that WVU won. Get over yourself. Three more opportunities to bitch about style points before the bowl game. :flyingwv:

Attribute motive all you like. The issue is the offense being ineffective is a large part of WVU's losses to big teams. It was the anchor that led to the OSU massacre. It got yards, but was too inefficient to beat VT and TCU. Its the consistency of the problem that I have issue with. Anomalies do happen, but WVU offense being ineffective for half or more of a game has been common this season even against chumps like Delaware State and ECU. Its being complacent with just winning despite not playing your best that results in missing the high mark you aim for. Pay attention to Huggins and how he talks after WVU wins. He is always more prone to talk about the things that went wrong and why its important to fix them because that is what it takes to actually compete with good to great teams rather than just hope they have a bad day and you can maybe upset them.
