Cactus Bowl Tickets For Troops

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – (Dec.10, 2015) -- The West Virginia University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics is partnering with the Veteran Tickets Foundation to distribute unused tickets for WVU's Cactus Bowl allotment to active duty soldiers and veterans in the Phoenix area.
Fans interested in purchasing $40 or $30 tickets to support this program can purchase tickets online at WVUGAME.com or by calling the Mountaineer Ticket Office at 1-800-WVUGAME.
“The state of West Virginia has a proud heritage of supporting our nation’s military and respecting and honoring our veterans,” WVU Director of Athletics Shane Lyons said. “We owe a great debt of gratitude to our present and past troops, who have fought for our country’s freedom and protection. We are honored to have this opportunity to partner with the Veteran Tickets Foundation for the upcoming Cactus Bowl.”
Vet Tix is a non-profit organization that supports the military community by providing tickets to various events and activities to currently serving military, veterans and their families. The organization has given away more than 1.7 million event tickets to verified military personnel and their dependents since 2008.
“By providing free tickets to socially interactive events, Vet Tix aims to reduce stress through entertainment, strengthen family bonds, build lifelong memories and encourage service members to stay engaged with American life and local communities,” Vet Tix Chief Marketing Office Al Maag said. “We look forward to working with the Mountaineers and their fans for the upcoming Cactus Bowl.”
West Virginia will face Arizona State at Chase Field and at 10:15 p.m. EST. The Mountaineers will be making their 34th all-time bowl appearance and fourth in the state of Arizona.
