WVU Release WVU Women's Basketball - West Virginia Earns No. 8 Seed in NCAA Tournament

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (March 17, 2024) – The West Virginia University women's basketball team (24-7, 12-6 Big 12) was selected as a No. 8 seed for the 2024 NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament, announced Sunday evening.



West Virginia opens the first round against No. 9-seed Princeton in the Albany 2 Region of this year's 64-team bracket, at the Carver-Hawkeye Arena in Iowa City, Iowa. The time and day for the contest has yet to be determined.



First-round games will be played on Friday or Saturday, March 22-23, and second-round games will be played on Sunday or Monday, March 24-25.



The other teams featured in WVU's portion of the first and second-round bracket include No. 1 Iowa and No. 16 Holy Cross or UT Martin.



WVU will be making an appearance in the NCAA Tournament for the second straight season and for the 15th time in program history.
