Would you rather: Win the Sugar Bowl? Lose in the Playoffs

I predicted 9-3 for WVU this year so I am extremely happy right now and getting into the top 4 would be magical

But....

I'm also a realistic person and WVU might be able to beat Louisville or Clemson but teams like Alabama, Ohio State and Michigan I think are a few notches above WVU. Right now.

So I think I would much rather see WVU in a New Years 6 Bowl and win than go to the Playoffs and possibly lose.

Obviously WVU could lose a New Years 6 Bowl but I would like our chances much more.

Win that and gain momentum for a National Championship run in 2017.

I would rather lose in the playoffs for the simple reason that by virtue of being in the playoffs we had a chance to win it all... something that the Sugar Bowl can't offer.

Hmmm, hard question. First thought was that I would like to finish the regular season in the highest spot possible...final four. Then I thought, no I would rather have a guaranteed Major bowl win if that is how the question was phrased. The I re-read the question & comments. If a play-off win is "possible" then I would go with that choice (a possible play-off win vs. a guaranteed Major bowl win). If the choice is a win vs. a loss...I would go with the Major Bowl win.

I agree with this and I too will be there with my son to cheer on our Mountaineers on Saturday night. Personally, I do not see any way that any Big 12 team gets into the playoff. They simply do not want this to happen. Both Clemson and Michigan lose to unranked teams and fall just one spot each. The agenda is clear.

With that said, and just to answer the question, I still think getting to a playoff and losing is better for recruiting purposes than winning any other bowl game.
