It wouldn't have bothered me at all if Laviolette was behind the bench; at least he's a push-the-play kind of coach. I was PO'd at him for a pretty long time after he tried to take on Disco Dan when he was in Philly; but that's a pretty long time ago, and everyone has moved on......
Anyway, I assume everyone has read (or heard about) Kessel's post-game tweet:

Just sitting around the house tonight w my dog. Felt like I should be doing something important, but couldn't put my finger on it.

Well, I guess he's getting downright roasted by certain individuals (especially David Backes, and to a lesser extent Derek Stepan) associated with Team USA. All things considered, I wish PK wouldn't have made the tweet; but I myself didn't think it was
that much of a cheap shot. But Backes came out today and more or less said he (and others) are gunning for Kessel in the future for cheap-shotting them.
All I can say is Backes needs to spend a little more time trying to explain why he personally did
so little in the first two games rather than moan (at considerable length) about Kessel. Guess I'm now just waiting for Torts to come out publicly against him, too (though, who cares). I guess I understand why these US guys are thin-skinned after those two crappy performances; but trying to somehow shift the conversation toward Kessel is, in my estimation, the height of immaturity.
And, now Kessel has been hammered enough that he's had to come out and say he wasn't being personal with his tweet (which he
wasn't). Won't matter to that jackass Backes, though......he's still more worried about finding somebody (or something) to cover his sorry ass.
