Wish we had followed your lead and never agreed to play 'em - ND

WVU had tv control of those games, the networks wanted the game but WVU would not let them telecast the game nationally.
WVU had control over the league and TV partner (ESPN, Fox, ABC, etc.) and refused a game being broadcast nationally, which would of been more money and exposure for the program?

Let me quote a Disney cartoon, which should be your level of understanding: “Stupid head”.

To fear Marshall indicates you don’t believe you are better than them and have too much of an ego to admit it Or accept it.

Fun game , good for two state institutions and usually attractive to tv.

They would kick Browns ass this year, but you don’t face other teams or not because you fear losing to them. Since Brown gets about 5 wins a year, if WVU took that tack with everyone they couldn’t fill out a schedule.

I’d like to see an fcs, Marshall and rotate through VT, Pitt, Maryland, PSU, Tennessee, Kentucky, NC teams.
Marshall had their chance with 2 for 1. They wanted 50/50 and rotate game. WVU could not make any money and Marshall couldn't win. You have no idea who would win or lose.

Game was not attractive to TV unless it was in state.

I suspect if WVU were hosting Marshall this coming Saturday (instead of TSU), it would be a sellout, even if many WVU fans didn't show up.

Your completely wrong.

WVU wants non-conference games to be with a regional opponent where they recruit. Problem. Robert Walker and a handful of others were great. But, not enough talented players live in the Huntington area.

New Jersey, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Maryland, Carolina or Ohio; all loaded with recruits. You need to play a team from there. Or two. Marshall doesn't fit that requirement and never will.

When supporters of the matchup say "its good for the state" what they really mean is it is good for Marshall University. Under the current circumstances no one can credibly claim the state benefits from the matchup. The fact of the matter is that general interest in the game does not extend past southern West Virginia. By playing WVU Marshall gets extra exposure that they otherwise would not get.

With Marshall being the only beneficiary of the arrangement it obviously breeds a certain amount of contempt from WVU fans particularly when the matchup has been forced upon the Mountaineers by over reaching politicians.

The driving purpose behind Marshall athletics should not be getting WVU to play them, and hoping to beat them. The driving purpose should be improving their athletic programs to the point where they can compete for College Football Playoff spots and NCAA Tournament berths, and those things don't come based strictly on victories over WVU. If you truly want to support Marshall quit believing that playing and beating WVU is important to your long-term success.

Probably slighlty more attractive than a game vs Towson. However 1:1 is not doable, wouldnt mind a 2:1 but would be up to them if they want to do it. If not whatever

Every team plays an FCS. Especially a team that plays 11 P5 schools. If they didn't play that FCS team they would have less home games in every other year.

I don't think anybody at Marshall is trying to get WVU to play them. Thought that dog left the shelter years ago.

More than likely, the only time they'll play will be on the soccer field, in-which they're both members of the SBC. That, and maybe baseball and a few other small sports like cricket and bowling. With conference changes, I guess it's not out of the realm of possibilities both schools will one day be in the same conference, assuming Marshall wouldn't veto WVU getting into the SBC.

They probably don't schedule Bowling Green again. But they beg and plead for WVU game. They even went to the governor.

How is that ND win feeling right now?

Louisiana 23 Mini U 13

Turds are 1-3 since their mighty ND win.
