2017 NCAA football had 2nd biggest drop in attendance in history.
For first time ever, attendance is down 4 years in a row.
I think there are a lot of factors; rising costs (donations), games in HD, all games on TV, kids today not as interested in sports, etc.
However, 2 or 3 years ago we were guessing about Big12 expansion. Now, I am thinking when some of these TV contracts end, the next round of contracts are smaller - and maybe - see conference realignment putting regional teams back into same conferences.
