Yep. This should have been a showcase for him to prove that he can at least compete with a very beatable team (giving him 6 years in still looking for that moment). Instead, it’s not even close.Cannot win big games.
I hope someone asks him the question: why didn’t you go after Becht?Yep. This should have been a showcase for him to prove that he can at least compete with a very beatable team (giving him 6 years in still looking for that moment). Instead, it’s not even close.
I hope someone asks him if he will ever win a meaningful game at WVU before he gets fired.I hope someone asks him the question: why didn’t you go after Becht?
The biggest difference in this game, besides the borderline needs to be investigated officiating, was how clean the Iowa State team executed. Zero turnovers, zero bad snaps, even when we got pressure, Becht almost always made the right decision. On the flip side, we throw multiple interceptions, at least one wasn’t necessary, we should have been running the damn ball (nobody would blame Donaldson at this point if he goes into the portal), can’t snap the ball, just flag after flag if undisciplined football. Mentally and fundamentally weak program.Brown has one attribute that will cost him his job - he is consistently inconsistent.
Every week there is something new that rises up and bites the team in the butt. Just when you thought just about everything has been exhausted to screw the team out of a chance for a win, something else shows up and says, "It's my turn".
You have to wonder about the morale. How you know something is going to go wrong, you just don't know what it is, but you know its coming. It always does.
Maybe that will be the deciding factor - how a consistently inconsistent team always manages to shoot themselves in the foot during a big game in an inopportune time - that get's Brown the boot.
The culture needs to change. When you are consistently snakebitten, you start to see snakes everywhere, and you end up being bitten over and over.
It's been time for a last 3 years now.Bye bye Brown
Becht well coached and knows when to throw the ball away. The biggest difference in this game, besides the borderline needs to be investigated officiating, was how clean the Iowa State team executed. Do you honestly think Becht would be a good QB here, considering our staff is horrible.I hope someone asks him the question: why didn’t you go after Becht?
I agree fans should be allowed to cheer for their team and not be subject to dumbass people on a message board. What does putting cursing a coach his players and school do to fix the problem?Yet you agree with Bru and Vorhees everytime they claim posters with this opinion "just hate Brown"
When your defense is built on transfers from lower level schools and Northwestern, we have serious issues.six years and he’s given no reason for WVU to keep him. He’s done nothing to improve the program. The losses keep coming. No marquee wins. No big recruiting or transfer portal coup. No identity.
Then you must not read the posts of Bru and Vorhees that you keep liking and agreeing with. Those tools are attacking anyone who even suggests that Brown has done a subpar job in his last 5 years and the single positive of winning at OSU does not negate that nor the other now 3 underperformances this year. No one is saying they can't cheer for the team, but they go out of their way to suggest anyone who continues to suggest Brown needs to show more after a win are "not real fans" or just "hate Brown."I agree fans should be allowed to cheer for their team and not be subject to dumbass people on a message board. Is it really some posters opinions or just angry shouts of hate?
He could see over the line and catch high snaps easier...lolDo you honestly think Becht would be a good QB here, considering our staff is horrible.
What I don't understand is why did he change the game plan after 2 straight successful drives. One a TD and the other a missed FG.What I really don’t understand is our game plan against a defense like Iowa State. Trying to run the ball side to side and out of shotgun is what ISU thrive against. Why we refuse to go under center with a power package of TEs and slot or FB as a lead blocker and run downhill is beyond my understanding.
What are you jealous or something? You want me to like your post as well? Will that make your hurt anger go away? Then you must not read the posts of Bru and Vorhees that you keep liking and agreeing with. Wish that was all I didn't understand but there is so much more including how we are in year 6 of this circus show. What I don't understand is why did he change the game plan after 2 straight successful drives. One a TD and the other a missed FG.
The other part is why do we not bring pressure. Everytime we have sent pressure it has worked. When we don't the safety gets lost and the opponent scores or gets big yardage.
This is the post of the weekend. 💯💯What I don't understand is why did he change the game plan after 2 straight successful drives. One a TD and the other a missed FG.

I'm begining to understand it. It's called Neal Brown footall. This is what you get when a weakling coach who is way in over his head and doesnt have a clue how to really coach to win. Based on his large collection of excuse-making PC's and interviews, he shouldn't even be expected to actually win. He' just a glorified baby sitter. The world has real issues, WVU not winning like we used to is not one of them, and he has made that very clear by bringing up the worlds problems in his press conference to draw attention away from the absolutely pathetic Pitt loss. I mean, he has had an awful schedule full of big scary teams as well, and its not fair, just ask him, he will in fact remind you. Its not fair that he has to open up againt PSU, and Bama. He wants us out of the Bama game. Hes had enpugh of playing top level teams. Its not fair to him to not open the season against the likes of Frostburg St instead of someone good. Oh yeah, and the refs arent fair either. The unfair officiating is always on the tip of his tongue.....just ask him. What I really don’t understand is our game plan against a defense like Iowa State. And this is not opinion it's a personal attack. Thanks for proving my point.Allen has no Rhyme or Reason he just likes starting shit. It's not always based on facts or logic....
Dude, you flip flop more often than Kamala.....WVU wins again...and you'll want Nelly to stay.....It's been time for a last 3 years now.
It's part of Brown's inconsistency. One always has to take into account the defense adjusts also but Brown always seems to go away from what was working to try something else. Then, stays with it until something bad happens and then goes away from it. It gets to a point where Brown becomes the worst thing that can happen to a coach - you become predictable. When the other side knows what you are going to run, when the fans know what you are going to run, and you run what everyone expects you are going to run, your team is in trouble. What I don't understand is why did he change the game plan after 2 straight successful drives. Well stated. But Becht has the intelligence to throw the ball away out of bounds if he knows nothing is there when he's feeling pressure. He is well coached. Becht had only been sacked 4 times all season and WVU had 2 sacks. That tells me keep pressuring until they figure it out. It's part of Brown's inconsistency. Sometimes you are just better and the other team can't stop you ala Okie State. But, when your competition is equal or better you're toast.
The weakness of this team is the secondary, particularly the corners. Safeties aren't world beaters either. I understand not wanting to get beat deep trying to play man and if you have a mobile QB you can get burned. But, Bect wasn't mobile. He's a sitting duck if the pressure comes and requires him to make an accurate deep throw, which isn't his strength, or to check down quick which allows you to rally to the ball. Instead, we drop into a zone, get concrete shoes, and allow a pass beyond the sticks before rallying to the ball. It's frustrating....
Dude you lack knowledge of what a fan is. I have no idea who Nelly is. But I would not be upset in the least if Neal was fired today. But prepare yourself for him to stay even if they go 4-8. The nightmare will not be over.Dude, you flip flop more often than Kamala.....WVU wins again...and you'll want Nelly to stay.....
Reading his comments you provided from sports illustrated article should anger WVU fans. What I gather from the comments are a few things“I get that they want to win, but did they have a good time (last Saturday against Iowa State)? Did they enjoy it? It was a pretty good atmosphere. I’m assuming they had a pretty good time tailgating, so if they’re in the deal for enjoyment then I would come back. I looked at the weather and it’s going to be nice again. It’s a night game and we need them to provide a home field advantage.” - Neal Brown
His PCs are epically pathetic lol. This dude is the clown of the century. There is no football coach on any level, not even Pee Wee football, who would ever say anything so effing stupid and weak except for Neil Brown. One of a kind. There is just not another coach as weak and insecure as this dude, and we just extended him for a second time lol. Wren Baker is going to run himself out of town and he doesn't even know it yet. Fans have had enough. Ticket sales are going to suffer...
I only enjoy games that we win. Sure I can look back at classics like Quincy’s run or Tavon’s performance at running back for one game only, but those memories are always tainted by the loss. Dear Coach Brown, losing is not fun.“I get that they want to win, but did they have a good time (last Saturday against Iowa State)? Did they enjoy it? It was a pretty good atmosphere. I agree with all 3 observations, and honestly I have agreed with them for about 3 years now. Due to the performance on the field and his press conferences, I jumped off his bandwagon pretty early. I have never really noticed a real winning attitude with him in the way he speaks about the team. He makes excuses, he doesn't take accountability, he downplays big games like the Pitt game, and he just lacks emotion except for when he pulls his lizard frog face towards the refs when he's flipping out over stupid calls. This dude is the worst coach I've ever seen in gold and blue. It's an embarrassment that we have actually extended him twice but it's where we're at.Reading his comments you provided from sports illustrated article should anger WVU fans. What I gather from the comments are a few things
1.). He’s ok with mediocrity.
2.). He’s feeling no pressure. Despite media reports saying he’s on a hot seat the last couple years, it is obviously false
3.). He’s given up and realizes he can’t fix it
It might be a combination of all 3. It’s time for a change.
What are you jealous or something? You want me to like your post as well? Will that make your hurt anger go away?
I've also seen the reverse of those attacking them because they choose to cheer for their team.
Surprised you didn't write a 238 word reply.I just care if the person posting actually has something to say or just shit stirring. You just you seem to post with pro Neal Brown crowds after any win and the anti Neal Brown crowd after losses.
Surprised you didn't write a 238 word reply.
Here's the deal
I'm a fan I like wins
I'm a fan I don't like losses.
People know Brown is not getting it done. Doesn't mean you can be an ass about it.
Actually you have no control over who is an ass about it. You can either bitch about that, or let people be asses about it if they want. I have no problem being an ass about this situation because that's how we make change as fans. They should know that most fans are done with this dude just the same as a lot of alum are offended by what they have done to the school itself. I understand they're making steps to fix the school part, now it's time to fix the football part because our attendance is always the best when our football program is good. Look at the history. I'm proud of being an ass for this cause because we got to get rid of this loser.Surprised you didn't write a 238 word reply.

I'm still waiting for anybody to really make a compelling argument on why we should keep Brown any longer than the last game of this season. My mind is open....
