This Hero Worshipping of Trump is Baffling To Me

What?? That’s EXACTLY how it works. I believe in Free Markets. I’m not ok with other countries using tariffs to increase the prices on our goods to their people because it does impact our ability to sell products in those countries. And if we get into a trade war, and they escalate their tariffs on our exports to them, then that hurts our American companies. Ask soybean farmers how they feel about this trade war with China. They’re probably not too happy. However, from an American consumer point of view, I want the lowest priced, quality goods I can find. And at present, those come from overseas suppliers. Placing tariffs on them will likely cause our American companies to search for cheaper foreign suppliers. In the case of China imports, we may look to India or Mexico to provide those same goods where the tariffs are lower. The sad truth in all of this is that even with these ridiculous tariffs/taxes, it’s STILL CHEAPER to buy overseas. We will pay more in Trump’s Tariff Taxes but it will still be LESS than if we produced these goods in the US which in most cases we don’t. And if you honestly believe it will spur mass business migration and job growth here in the US, you’re terribly mistaken. And those that do migrate, it will takes YEARS to ever get established and the cost of labor in the US will be MUCH higher than overseas so the American consumer will still likely pay more for those same products. I understand the desire to create jobs and buy American but in reality, Free Trade has provided us goods and services at reasonable/cheaper prices.

So we give all the middle class jobs away for cheaper goods then pay the difference in welfare and medicaid. Not to mention all of our people are doing nothing but killing themselves with drugs and alcohol. I'm all for open markets and free and fair trade .... it has never been free or fair . Other countries has been charging us and China has been robbing us blind add in we have regulations that completely shut us down and workers rights....human rights that the countries you want free trade with don't have . So I would rather pay a few more bucks for a pair of shoes knowing I'm supporting a family who is treated fairly and not getting a government handout that by the way raises taxes than not .
Tariffs can raise prices but bring jobs home that support people.
Welfare creates nothing but depression and death and raises taxes..... yeah I'll take the tariffs.

I understand timing and political capital. Trump used his up on tariff threats, great for long term, not great for right now. Great, our trade imbalance will be better in 2+ years.

Spending cuts were needed RIGHT NOW, and now we're not going to get those. Ever.

His priorities were out of whack, and we're screwed because of it.

The country has been screwed for a long time. There are spending cuts. Hopefully they can really take place even more.

Well I'm pretty sure doing what we've been doing the last 40 is not doing nothing good but creating rich enemies and a 37 TRILLION dollar debt . I believe it will help.
If I'm gonna be wrong I'd rather it be with noble intentions instead of greedy intentions. Getting people back to work and off the streets is the goal . Look at it this way , let's say the tariffs don't work and they don't create the jobs I hope for . Then it's a consumer tax not a income tax and it will help cover welfare and Medicaid.

However, when I listen to the news, and hear people complaining about the high price of eggs, EGGS, I doubt the general public would be willing to pay more in order to be patriotic. I was using eggs as an EXAMPLE how people complain about the prices of even the smallest of things and would likely be unwilling to pay more just because an item is made in the USA. They would more than likely choose the cheaper, foreign alternative. I don’t buy this altruistic idea of society.

As a believing Christian, I too thought we were "bonding". However you refused to explain yourself to me before Christ our Lord and Savior on why you harbor such unforgiving hatred for just one man? (Trump) You also couldn't show me through Scripture (which should be our common reference point as believers) why Almighty God says it's OK for a woman to kill the miraculous life he's created inside of her?
