Starting out FY24 with the 3rd highest month for encounters at the southern border— Sources with CBP confirm 241,080 people crossed into the U.S. in October— 188,878 were encountered by Border Patrol between the ports of entry— 52,203 were encountered by CBP Officers at ports of entry. Encounters in September broke records— Where CBP data shows 269,735 migrants were encountered. December of last year meanwhile saw 252,315 encounters. FY23 finished with more than 2.4 million encounters at the southern border—3.2 million were encountered nationwide.
